I want Sandro to sign, simply based on only hearing about him a month ago simply because he is cheap. It really comes down to the finer points of executing the deals now, Particularly with Sandro being close to signing.
I'm hazarding a guess here but he won't have come over if he hadn't ironed out in his own mind and with his advisors any perceived 'negatives' - things like our lower stature compared to the bigger clubs, long period without a trophy etc, leaving his homeland.
I assume the contract offer is more than decent so it's a case of selling the club to him in as positive a way as possible.
If he does sign I think it will be a very good indicator of being able to persuade players that we are a good bet and that the mistakes from last summer have been learned from and ironed out.
It also indicates the amount of work involved to get deals done with such fierce competition. We are going to have to replicate that work maybe another 5-7 times to have a decent summer.
Can't count our chickens but getting Sandro in would be a terrific start and an excellent bit of business. Hope they can complete soon and that it sets the tone for a busy and successful few weeks.

I worry that Sandro is getting bigged up a little too much at the minute as being anything but a cheap squad player we are bringing in. Yes he might be talented and he may well be a great player for us in the future if he does indeed sign. But this attitude is the same one applied to the likes of Robles for example, promoting them to be better than what they actually are. I would argue that him signing is meant to be part of the squad, if he comes in and scores a fair few then fantastic, if it takes him a year to bed in then so be it. If he can't play in england or just isn't very good then we can profit on him. Either way, he isn't going to be the player who takes us up a level.
He may well be and i truely hope he is.He's better than a 'cheap squad player'
The fact Atleti are interested should say enough mate.
Obviously, that can be caveat-ed by a few things, but from what I've seen he'd be a really good acquisition at a brilliant price.
Is he the one who come through the Dortmund ranks? Was highly touted to go on and be a very good defender.WRD on TEF saying we're in talks for a young defender called 'Sarr' (probably Marlang Sarr - an 18-yr-old (born in 1999 ffs!) from Nice.
Don't know anything about him.
*Waits patiently for @Zatara 's input

But using Athletico are interested in all honesty mate means nothing. That is a club who buys young players regularly whether they are an Aguero or Vietto. that is something they regularly and successfully do, turn young players into stars so Sandro is just one of many in that regard

Considering they paid over 30 for Michy a year ago and Ake is one of the top young defenders, is that really as outlandish as you suggest? If we realistically expect to get 100 million then I wouldn't take Ake and Batman plus 40 mil, that means you are valuing those two players at a combined 60 million!!!!
£75mHow much do you reckon we'd cave in at though. I mean I know we said £100m, but really....
