Everton boss David Moyes is ready to make a £1million bid for Belgian under-21 midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as he tries to line up top young talent.

The Goodison club have been chasing the Genk starlet for weeks and will make a bid as they try to head off interest from Standard Liege.

De Bruyne is a skillful attacking midfielder with similarities to Mikel Arteta and Moyes is keen to land up-and-coming youngsters before they are priced out of his range.

The 18-year-old has become a regular in the Genk side and Moyes could seal the deal in the next few days as his scouts give the deal their approval

Yes I know, its the mirror.

How can his skills be similar to those of Arteta when he's an attacking midfielder/striker?
According to this (yes, wiki, i know) he's a striker and scored 5 goals in his first match for the Genk reserve team.

Though still only 18, the midfielder, who, the report says, possesses skills similar to Mikel Arteta, is a regular for Genk.

above is from Toffeeweb site via the mirror.

skills similar to Arteta?

Are they sure?

Has he an immaculate touch, silky smooth passing and cultured feet?

Can he make Chico swoon at twenty million paces?

Would I bum him?

Would you?

Im liking this it has to be said, the accumaltion of young talent for relatively modest fees, with many saying they are happy to start next season keeping hold of what we have and everyone fit and healthy - this is the way to go. But id still love the Zog and a centre back myself.

Any how Kevins agent is quick of the mark:

"The desire of the player is to wait two weeks until after the important matches of the final play off.

"Afterwards he will quietly reflect on what the best decision may be for the further development of his career."

Can't find anything in the (major) Belgian newspapers. Would be an interesting buy. Superb talent, definately one for the future. Problem is that Genk has signed an agreement with the RS, to become a satellite club. So think Liverpool could spoil the party for us, if we're really interested. Can't believe they'll let him join Everton without a fight.

Found some footage of him, he looks mega, mega ace, begining to hope this is very true, looks like the Mikel comparisons were true - youtube and all that though!

Nice skills on the video finding front, I've tried finding one for the Joao Silva, but keep finding Jo! Ha

This kid looks pretty damn good (I know everyone can on Youtube) but he looks the nuts, Do It Moyes, get him in

that 1st video is one of the best collection of misses i've seen in a while : )

This. Lets hope we are not buying any of their strikers aswell.

He looks good though, a nice array of passes, let mikel put him under his wing and show him what a true pass master is all about.

Kevin de Bruyne would be a great transfer for the future. But Genk wil never sell him for 1 million to EFC

dunno by the looks i would be happy to part with up to 3million for him risk we got to take to sign our next creative master
