Losing to Arsenal...would it be so bad?

If a loss to Arsenal handed them 4th over RS, would you be happy?

We'll be playing them in the Europa when they drop out of the Champions League anyway, thus completing the full set in the 'shafting Everton in every competition possible' category.

Congratulations to the author of this thread.

If any of you have doubt think of them carrying our coffin before the Wimbledon game and then decide..
That's the moment when the friendly rivalry turned sour for me. They showed their bitter hand first and they've been calling us it ever since, the cheek!
Hope we hit the crossbar and posts numerous times, outplay them and get beat by a snide penalty at 89mins.

Unfortunately any "friendly local" success went out the window time ago.

They have achieved much more success over the last two decades and they've been unbearable over it.

Speaking to a lad called Tom on holiday, massive red from Devon with his kids all kitted out giving you some southern football bantz for being a blue is what killed it for me.

Makes us look terribly small time, tbh. Fans can have their own views on whether they want us to lose, don't think it needs highlighting in public view though ha

Who care if it does? This is expected behaviour when you have a City rival and the result of your match has no impact on your own league ambitions but can massively affect your rivals. Villa fans were desperate for Blackburn to beat them at Ewood Park the other week because it had little bearing on their own season, and could relegate Birmingham.

The Kopites can call us bitter all they want. They'd be the exact same if the roles were reversed.

The way I see it is that Arsenal are a bigger club than the RS in this era and have a far better stadium and London location so are a bigger draw for top players. If the RS miss out on the CL we have a better chance to overtake them in the coming seasons than we do Arsenal.

Obviously if we could get higher in the league ourselves by beating Arsenal then almost all of those that answered that they wanted us to lose would have gone with 'no - Everton win'. But there is absolutely nothing riding on this game for us.
