Here is a question, and don't focus 100% on the specific players but think of players of the ilk (value) of those mentioned.....

Suppose we sell:
Niasse, Cleverley, Delboy, Funes Mori, McCarthy and Tarashaj for a combined 60M (plus Kone leaves on a free)
and buy:
Van Dijk, Klaassen, Pickford, Sandro, Onyejuru for 110M while adding Ghezzal and Taylor on a free

That is a net spend of 50M. Are we happy with the resultant team? 6 out who don't feature (plus Mori who i don't think i would sell, but for the exercise he is sold) replaced by 7 in, 4-5 of whom would likely feature regularly.

Sure we may not really get VVD, but then we might not get Sandro either. Together they are 60M - hard to imagine getting a striker and CB for less than 60M combined. I can't imagine we would spend more than 50 net and seeing what 50 net gets us don't believe we can afford to spend less and advance our cause.

I sincerely hope that 50 m is the very least net spend
I am hoping for 85/100 m net
Promises were made by Moshiri and now is the time to deliver

IF Lukaku went for the rumoured 85m currently doing the rounds

Dolberg 30-35m, Someone like a Hernandez for 20-25m? 30m left over to strengthen with other options up front like a Mertens, this lad from Malaga, Iheanacho etc

Wouldn't exactly be the end of the world for us

And we wouldn't have to put up with the constant speculation about Lukaku's intentions and "taken out of context" remarks to Belgian journalists while on international duty. I'd want £100m for him, though. If Pogba's £89m...

If we managed to pull off those sales and those purchases at roughly those prices (whilst keeping Lukaku) I'd be very, very pleased. If we did it and kept Lukaku AND Barkley, I'd be absolutely buzzing.

I'd probably want to see another CB and another striker in (one on loan maybe, and the other for cash) either way though.

The key to making this summer a success is not the players we sign with any money from the sale of Ross or Rom; we need to sign some good players early enough that those two are persuaded to stay.

"I am incredibly lucky - I play for a good club and live in a nice area - but I am ambitious as well," "I won't get to play for Manchester City, or another club among the top five in England.

"But I do think that I can develop myself to the level needed to play for a club like Everton. But there is a long way for me to go. I first need to become the best player at Middlesbrough - that is the next step for me.

he said this back in February which seems to be what the current rumours are using as the basis for linking us to him mate

For what it's worth anyone who says something like that can absolutely do one for me, effectively saying 'i know I'm not good enough for a top team, but I'm good enough for a team like Everton'

Swerve the absolute bell-end

But those teams are a level above us otherwise we'd be challenging for the title?

Irrelevant to me, a player 5 months after joining a club started talking about wanting to join another club mate, for that alone he's a bad bell.

He's also not very good either

as for the teams above us challenging for the title, not really the last two seasons only spurs has done that and Chelsea, the rest are as far off as we are in reality.
