Summer Transfer Window 2017

Pickford, Keane, Klaassen and Ramirez early would be nice..... Would be a move up (both in profile and wages) for them all and addresses the 4 biggest needs. Then would allow us the luxury of really going after those 1 or 2 big signings we want to see, but not put us in position of panic buying late....

The others may be only so much rumor, but Pickford makes too much sense not to have some legs. He surely doesn't want to be playing in the championship and we are the best team likely to offer him the #1 job.

Yeah I'm not so sure about wether we will make that real statement of intent kind of signing but I do think we'll spend well this summer and make 2-3 hefty investments. Think we'll definitely break our transfer record! But I don't think it's a bad thing buying players like Sigurdsson or Klaassen. Their good players and would improve us and if we can get a few of them in and get the right blend aswell then it could work out for us.

Look at Spurs and some of their signings, Alderweireld who couldn't get a kick at Atl. Madrid and was loaned to Southampton, played well and got his move to Spurs and was nowhere near being CL level. Vertonghen was good at Ajax and a Europa league level player that's got better. Alli as come from nowhere and is a player, same with Kane. Wanyama for Southampton, who would of thought he'd be one of best DM in our league and possibly Europe?! Dembele from Fulham, absolute class. Eriksen another. They've practically gone and bought talents or good players from decent clubs that some of the big boys didn't think we're quite good enough for them and built an outstanding side.

Hopefully Koeman can go and do the same thing and put some talent together and build us a good side....

yep, i want us to do that tbh, i mean obviously i'd love us to splash £60m on someone like james rodriguez or isco like some on here want, but that's unrealistic. If you look at spurs, those have been the good signings, who have been the bad ones? The bigger names who were bought for bigger money like sissoko £30m, lamela £32m, soldado £26m. Money is irrelevant, it's all about the player and their adaption. Pogba is a world record fee, massively overrated because of his media appeal and united fell for it, an utter flop so far. Ibrahimovic on the other hand was £89m less and has single handedly carried them all season when he's been fit.

Scratch Keane if reports of Liverpool are true..... Find some stud from a foreign league as i don't want to overspend for local talent....

Money was hardly irrelevant for Ibra - he's on like 300k per week. Huge signing fee too I imagine.

As far as i'm concerned.

All your reputable Málaga news comes from Diario Sur... Diario Sur goes on to state.

Yesterday came to the Rosaleda Everton technical manager, ex-footballer Ronald Koeman, who wanted to see firsthand the evolutions of the Canarian striker, only 21 years. It is expected that also a very important offer for the player of this British team. But he is not the only one of the English competition that intends the soccer player. The interest of Tottenham was already known, but many more are responsible for other clubs that have already contacted their representative, Ginés Carvajal, this newspaper has learned.

Kind of agree on this, its how we have made money, selling local/British players for far too much, dont want to be on the other foot now its us that have the coin to spend, we still need to be clever in the market.

i don't want to be linked to highly rated defenders from big teams like napoli, ac milan etc. and then pay just about the same amount for some yard dog from burnley. Obviously a lot of foreign centre backs fail over here, but we already have williams and jagielka who are acclimatised to the league as well as two very highly rated young english centre backs in holgate and galloway. We have to think about europe as well, and having all our centre backs being british is a bit short sighted in that regard imo, i'm sure we could attract a centre back twice as good for the same price.

We're a team who don't need to, nor i think will ever really have to worry about home grown quotas etc, we have 5 players in the english U20 squad released today for example, so we really done't need to become stupid like liverpool and city have in massively overspending on the british premium for players.
