For me it's time we sold Lukaku. Clearly wants a move or would have signed the fantastic contract offer. If we get £80million I'd look to get Dolberg, Iheanacho and the experience of Rooney with the money. If Barkley wants out then sigurdson and tielmans with that money and £60million on the keeper and defence. £70/£80 million net spend. Time to remind Ross and Rom that the world won't stop spinning without them.

Except that Marshall was already 29 and had 3 clubs and about 200 games under his belt before he suddenly started getting talked about. Marshall was a player who'd been round the.block.

Nothing at alike these two,

But Marshall, like Pickford, broke on to the scene at a young age at Celtic and looked good and put a MOTM display on at the Nou Camp all them years ago but then went missing after then came good again in his late 20's....

Tbf Zieler wasn't brought in to be No.1 or take over from Schmeichel. Karius was brought in to be Liverpools No.1 and it hasn't worked out but he wasn't the most highly rated young GK in Germany, not even one of. Fair enough he was highly rated but there was other's that were ahead of him and there's some top GK's in the Bundesliga!
Fair enough mate. But just saying that it's not a guaranteed success as the original poster was making

Re: Sigurdsson. I like him, he works hard and his set pieces are hugely valuable.

He has zero creativity in open play though. This season he's had 0.72 open play key passes per game which is around the bottom 5% for players in his position. For reference, Barkley has 1.72 per game. An elite player in that position like De Bruyne has 2.51. If we buy Gylfi then I think we'll need a clever creative passer to be a part of our attack/midfield. An attacking midfield of, say, Sigurdsson / Rooney / Barkley leaves us with very little 'magic' around the box and very little pace too. I'd be surprised if we weren't thinking about buying another player in that area.

Maybe this season he hasn't made a lot of assists or key forward passes from open play, but what has he had ahead of him through out the whole season? Llorente that's a big lump and not one for running off the shoulder of CB's and apart from Sigurdsson himself they don't really have players that break from deep and get in the box. Fer does/did now and again but Sigurdsson seems the one to get forward and offer a goal threat.

I see a lot say "well he only assists from set pieces..." But I think they underestimate what a plus that can be for us. In certain games it could and can be the difference. Look at last week when he stuck a FK in at OT, that gained Swansea a point, now we took a point away at OT and if he does that for us he could be winning us the game. It's the same at West Ham the other week, a dreadful game of football but if we get a FK or corner with a player like Sigurdsson in the ranks, he could potentially put it on a six pence and someone slot an header away or he hits the top corner and we come away from a sh#*$¥ game with 3 points in the bag rather than one and over the course of a season that sort of thing can be handy cos more often than not you could turn draws into wins.

It's about having game changers, players that can make the difference and with his set piece ability he's got that in his locker. He's also a really good player with other strings to his bow and who wouldn't want a player like that?!

Playing a through ball to Llorente is just a free back pass.

I trust Koeman and Walsh but the only problem I see is our board officials delaying deals until the last second of transfer deadline day.

If Lukaku is going, get it done after we get our deals done not after.

Before any BIG outs, we must get a keeper, centreback and 2 strikers in.

Pep wants him gone?????????????

Exactly what l thought. If this was true l would drive over to Manc Land and personally deliver him to the gates of FF. He is one cracking little player and if Pep wants him out he needs his head bumps feeling.

I am obviously no authority but with the heavy january links of an exit and lack of playing time and speculation articles http://talksport.com/football/manch...silva-could-be-next-star-ditched-ruthless-pep like that one makes me think its a small possibility.... he would be a massive fee for a massive statement

To me he's like one of the only "Pep" players already at City so just can't see it.

True and i would question any team in the world who would be open to losing that kind of asset however he is one of the fringe players like willian and schneiderlin was that could be lured on a massive contract...
