Well the problem here is that with that complete failure of bringing in players on big money this year, that whole Stones STCC, we CAN'T bring in 3 players @ 50m, can we? You pay that much for a player, you are paying top wages as well.

It should not be any factor limiting us, and if people try to trot that out then its an excuse why we failed to attract players not the reason mate.

Just the agreed sale of cleverley alone added to the annual permitted increase gives us 15m we can increase wages by, if Deulofeu goes for even his buyback ammount of 10m then with amortization that'd give us another 8m per season available to increase wages by, if we assume McCarthy goes for a much lower value than Newcastle wanted to pay, aay 15m, that'd be roughly another 10m.

If that was all we sold it'd give us 33m increase per season allowable, or 635k per week not counting the wages now freed from those we would have sold.

Throw in a few small sales of academy lads who we decide to let go, Lennon, possibly Mori or other squad players etc, and the figure could easily go to the 40-45m mark. Which would give us about 800k per week within the rules.

But then you contend with FFP if you useall that for wages.

Nope, only thing that matters in wages etc, is complying with the STCC regs, as for spending on buying players, only regs that apply are the European ones, which I believe we'd have to spend something silly like 200m net over three seasons to be troubled by
Forgot to add into the, earlier posts, that all increased or new commercial deals effectively allow you to raise wages by the annual amount your paid in excess of the old deal.

In short, it is impossible for us to be hampered by wages, as we wouldn't be able to afford players who'd see us hit the wage cap.

You'd literally be talking about 8-9 incoming players all on 150k per week for us to be limited by the stcc rules.

Im still worried we may offer pickford £90k a week, gylfi £140k a week.

For that price I want Buffon and Isco :D

I guess I will have to get used to these wages/fees, long gone are the days of £5m for Jags, Lescott, Arteta, Pienaar, Baines etc etc..
We only got Gana Gueye because of a release clause at £7m.
