Usmanov

Keeping all financial reasoning aside, he looks a goose if he keeps accepting the treatment he is continually receiving for a decade.
He's purportedly a late in the day Arsenal fan. The Arse are based in the financial capital of Europe if not the World so it makes sense for the oligarch types to want to have their businesses and investments located there. But there comes a time when pride - which sometimes has to take a back seat for the greater good - can no longer be forced down and l think Usmanov's has taken enough battering hence his open and public rejection of the major shareholder and HIS board. So l truly believe he has grown sick and tired of playing second fiddle to that 'damned Yankee' and is now intent on creating his own dynasty (which also has 'capital' benefits insofar as he will be at the forefront of the North Liverpool regeneration project). Liverpool probably also reminds him of his gritty homeland with its character and the people's ne'er say die attitude. So Welcome Alisher!

Everton aside mate, you would think egomaniacal multibillionaires have some pride wouldn't you?

Of course but l think he has been playing a waiting game in anticipation of Kroenke selling up. That appears unlikely to work out and as Usmanov is getting no younger and if he wants to leave a mark on the football stage then he must do it now. It would also be a slap in the face of his great foe if he can turn us around and replace the Arse at the top table. So yeah, l take your point in that l guess his ego rather than his pride has taken the battering ;)

Try this scenario for size;-
Over the coming seasons Moshiri puts together the finance to get our iconic stadium going. Meanwhile , with prudent investment and management, Everton displace or vie with Arsenal in the top six. Increasingly angry Arsenal fans step up the intensity of protest in favour of Usmanov. Things become increasingly unpleasant for Kroenke and his cronies. Worse still the revenue stream that is Arsenal becomes disrupted. Kroenke realises he has to invest serious money to repair the damage, or take Usmanov's lucrative offer. He cedes to Usmanov. That's business.
With Usmanov in control of Arsenal, the authorities raise serious concerns over the degree of separation with Moshiri. They quibble. Moshiri sadly admits defeat. Kenwright , either by utilising the increased value of his shares buys Moshiri out ,or by using a Green placeman like Earle or a combination of both, resumes full control of Everton with Elstone still his right hand man.
Hey presto , Kenwright has built a flash new stadium thanks to the investor/enabler he always sought as opposed to a buyer.

This needs to be vaulted so you can predict the lottery numbers. I could completely see it playing out like this.

There will be no prizes awarded for anyone spotting the glaring financial error in this post........

All joking aside a doomsday scenario like this is a reason why it is critical that the extra/new income generated by the stadium is sufficient to meet the loan repayments without Moshiri (or Usmanov or an outside third party) having to top them up. Last thing we need is any transfer budget being negatively impacted by the debt/lease terms the stadium will bring.
