Everton FC's Farhad Moshiri BUYS the Royal Liver Building

Can't have everything mate. There's hardly a club in the world that has built a stadium and spent massively at the same time. Arsenal were hit, Spurs will be hit. Moshiri came up with a funding model to minimise this risk (which you called fraud on) and now you're ready to call fraud if he doesn't spend big on the team. What would he have to do to satisfy you? In his first 12 months break all FFP restrictions and sink close to 1 billion pounds capital of his own wealth on the stadium (skipping all the due diligence bits just rushing straight to a spade in the ground) and new players? He literally could not have done more in the year he's been here:

Debt satisfied with interest free loan to him (savings on interest huge each year, no guarantee we even have to repay the loan)

This has allowed us to set up a funding model for a WATERFRONT stadium and secure the land. (Imagine the complexity of that with Peel and the council and he'd done it within a year)

Ineffective management team paid off and new manager and head of recruitment brought in at expensive compensation

Goodison exterior updated

New sponsorship for the training ground

New shirt and sleeve sponsorship to be agreed

Transfer fees and wages spent on Bolasie Williams Gueye Schneiderlin Lookman.

What more could you possibly want from one year of ownership?

There's no pleasing some people.

If that happened what could happen? Stadium built and established as Everton's. What are his family going to do, dismantle it and move it to Iran? And if they sold their shares to another buyer then that buyer would presumably want a successful club.

They're ALL unscrupulous. D'you think Moshiri isn't? Look who he worked for and what his job was: he reinvested wealth that was seized from a sovereign state by an oligarch.

The point is you don't know in the future if anyone will buy us. (at that particular time)

That could lead to us being at the mercy of someone who isn't an Everton fan and doesn't care what happens to us. They will want the money they see that belongs to them and could easily cause problems, just look at Southampton. Ok the daughter hasn't done anything drastic (yet) but neither is she concerned as her father about moving the club forward.

It's a static selling club and she is happy pocketing the rest that they don't spend. You have to remember that she was left far more money than Moshiri is worth and we don't know how much he has in cash/tied up in long term property investments. Everton could be the quickest asset to milk.

As for they are all unscrupulous, that maybe true but some are far worse than others. I don't care what he has done in the past, I care what he does going forward and that has to make Everton a self sufficient institution that can generate the maximum amount of income not to need a sugar daddy.

You are happy to find looming issues at the deals our club makes at the moment but you can't see problems with the alternatives that could be far worse.

...and this is how the modest squad spending will be 'managed'. They know that we know this stadium has to be paid for. There'll be a Pavlovian response.

Yeah annually from the day we move into it, via the clever funding model they've employed.

'More than he has spent on Everton'

Will Kithnou take the bait ? Who else can I reel in ?!

Whats this got to do with Everton?
Can you imagine the next meeting with the Swiss shareholders.
Mosh : How's it going lads
Swisscom:Grand Mosh not a bother.
We were just saying in the taxi over that this old liver building is making us a nice few quid , anything else we could invest in around here. ???
Mosh : Funny you should bring that up !
There's a local football club looking for a few quid. The council are guaranteeing the loan so it's a gimme.
Swiss ; how much do they need ?
Mosh : 300 million
Swiss : Chicken feed , we will stick a cheque in the post.
Mosh ; Sound job lads , it's a sound long term investment.
Swiss ;Eh Mosh what's the story with the naming rights on the Stadium , we would be interested say 400 million ??
Mosh ;Nah lads you're grand , there's a Russian mate of mine in London has dibs on that.

Whatever your occupation is, its wasted unless it's as Moshiri's right hand man - you have a gift for this kind of work

Heads are falling.

Well in Moshiri.

They're kicking off at the Royal (blue) Liver Building now...

I dont know where you get the idea I see Moshiri as a fraud. I think he'll get a stadium built. I've always thought so and said so. There's a difference between being fraudulent and doing things that maximise your gain and minimizing your risk. And I think the 'clever plan' he's the architect of fulfils that criteria.

Dont place your trust in this feller. Just over a year ago you'd have been hard pressed to know he existed unless your obsession was in the world of accountants serving the interests of oligarchs. Dont give him an inch. Hold his feet to the fire at every single turn.

I don't know why, but I can't help but picture Arthur Scargill when I read your posts lately
