Everton FC's Farhad Moshiri BUYS the Royal Liver Building

If the Peel proposals for the docklands go ahead as planned then an iconic building like this is going to increase hugely in value.

I wonder if the intention is to move the administration of Everton FC into the building in time.

In the longer term I think there may be opportunities to use this building as a promotional tool for the club, but we will probably have to wait to see what format that takes.
If the new stadium goes ahead, if the owner of Everton FC also owns a property such as this and there may be more to follow, it will certainly raise the profile of club/owner in the city and probably beyond.

I think the Everton project is still in it's infancy . We possibly may have to endure a couple of more derby disappointments before things change permanently.

Any player we are looking to recruit should be taken to the liver building for negotiations.

Explain the heritage of Everton in this city, whilst pointing out the new location of the stadium from the top floors of the historic and iconic building.

How better to show off the projected bold future of the club than from the most recognisable building in the city.

A very astute purchase both as real estate and to push the global recognition of Everton FC.

"The big four a wheel, I plan to smash it"

He should get the rights to Carousal actually so we can get a wedge at ever Liverpool home game

Yeah the musical was a poor example. Just think that as ever we're getting ahead of ourselves when we should be looking for improvements on the pitch instead of dreaming of an imaginary "Everton Dock Land Theme Park" stretching from Branmley Moore to the Albert Docks because an investor has invested in a building.
Love the fact this is killing you ..... those who know,, just know.

That'll go swimmingly

Yes, but as owner the only thing Moshiri should be spending his time doing is making an "Everton Dock Land Theme park". We cant improve the play on the pitch in the middle of the season, and if hes a good owner he should be leaving that business to Walsh and Koeman anyhow. Im not sure anyone is proclaiming that this means we are going to be in the CL, just that they love it, which they should.

I don't think anyone really believes or is even bothered about turning liver birds blue etc. However our single biggest shareholder, 'the boss', has just gone halves on the most iconic building in our city, one of the most presitiges landmarks in the world, which most of us believe is very relevant given his ownership of the club and current plans for the new stadium.
It's like the PSG owner buying the Efiel Tower.
He's clearly a man with a vision and the substance and requisite pips to see it through. That in itself is a very positive sign for Evertonians.
If along the way we can laugh at oursleves and our loveable neighbours, where's the harm?

The thing is though mate, one doesn't stop the other does it? Secondly nobody is suggesting dreamland etc.

Evertons owner acquiring Liverpools most famous building can be seen as a positive and significant step without needing to stop talking about transfers.

I'm not having a go at Moshiri, if he's helping pump money in the area then fantastic. It's nothing to do with his investment in Everton though. It's like us buzzing that Kenright has just bought a share in the musical Cats.

With our new stadium in the distance ... how glorious will it look :)

You wouldn't be able to paint the liver birds blue as some have mentioned as the building is grade 1 listed.

What you could do though is ring the base of the bird domes with powerful blue spotlights which would give the impression that the birds are glowing blue at night.
Imagine when the stadium is built and you have those long horizontal waterfront night time pictures with an illuminated blue stadium at one end of the picture and the liver building with blue glowing birds at the other end.
I'm sure the RS would love that......

This has to happen.
