Tactically we've been muddled recently. 3 at the back worked when we were in a slump but limits us agaunst weaker teams. As the team in teh best form since the turn of teh year we shouldnt have been intimidated today but he was and went ultra defensive.

I'm not gonna be hypocritical, today was a very bad defeat for RK and he put a team out there that showed no more bottle than those that have gone before. The players let him down like they've let down countless other bosses.

Next year we need to somehow find the answers to this nonsense. Absolutely bricking it at the pit needs to change, the young scousers in our team should be relishing it. We need to find better players and better characters and RK needs to instill more belief.

Yep. And hold onto that thought mate.

I have to disagree.

Who, from the lot that were let go, would you have deployed ?
That is a fair point. I didn't mean it in that way, it was a good thing we cleared them out when we did. My point was just that this is a end result from it. None of our young players are on the same level as some of the seniors and that's fine, you don't expect them to be. Just take away the fact it is a derby today and essentially we threw them into a game against a top 4 side, so the level of quality they had to play at with very little experience was going to be a hindrance to us.

So I am just merely suggesting that the knock on effect from having a clearout was essentially today. Pick up a few knocks and we are then forced to throw a load of youngsters in the team and hope they can play at the top 4 in the league level, where all the best teams play. Out senior team aren't at that level so why expect our youngsters are?

It does raise the need to strengthen in the summer quite a bit and it was a bit of a learning curve for them all in the team today. But asking a group of youngsters to make up a third of a team and ask them to do what no senior team has managed to do in 7 years? A lot of pressure and expectation on them to do that, especially against a top 4 team.

But all of that subtracts away from my original posts because I'm not blaming them or singling them out at all, many senior players played at the same level today

Oh, ok. How about beaten very handily by a terrible Liverpool team? Is that more palatable? Does that make the loss any easier to deal with?

Chelsea annihilated us, Tottenham battered us, we played just as bad in this game but the RS weren't even close to the level what the other 2 were. So annihilation, massive stretch.

With regards to a terrible Liverpool team; that they may be, but derbys are irrelevant because its a one off game and our starting line up was hardly the strongest was it

I understand your point but those that were let go were/are not good enough. Not one of them would have played today. Not one of them would have displaced someone on the bench today except maybe Geri for Kone.

It doesn't take a genius, he was protecting the kids and team he's going to have to rely upon on Tuesday.

I get that part it was the bit where he was said we played the way we like which was nonsense. We were a complete mess. Doesn't take a genius to work that out.
