James McCarthy

That's my attitude now. Let another club put up with his idiocy and ROI's arrogance and incompetence. Wouldn't blame Koeman if he had McCarthy's locker cleared out and bin-bagged for him to collect to show others he's serious about not going against what he tells you.

Late to this. RK told him not to play? Then he did? (well, didnt).

Bin.

..I always think the club is too soft in these matters. How can a player who has been unavailable through injury for such a long period be suddenly ok to play for his country. If he played across the park he'd have stayed at home.

I agree, like the Matip saga. He stayed in the end. We need to put the foot down and he needs to open his stupid gob.

Everton told ROI he was injured and wasn't available (I imagine Koeman made that call).

ROI called him up anyway and put him in the starting XI. He breaks down in the warm-up, proving us right.

Player should have stood up and told O'Neill and Keane he wasn't fit like his club (Koeman) told them. He didn't and has set himself back in what has already been a waste of a season so far for him.

Show yourself the door now Jimmy.

...as I said in January, this injury has to be a factor in deciding his future at the club. The only problem is that the more it reoccurs the less likely that somebody will invest big money in him. Hindsight is a great thing but McCarthys stock was high when Newcastle were sniffing around.

I would take £12-15 million for him considering Allen went for around that and is the better player atm. Add £4-5 million for Besic, £8 million for Cleverly, £8-10 million for Niasse and a reported £8-10 million for Deulofeu and we'll have the money to reinvest in 2-3 good players for the squad. That's not even factoring in the TV money and possible £70-80 million If Rom goes.

Mad conspiracy theory or what . so who is stopping him playing for us and who withdrew him tonight despite being named in the startin X1 ?
AFAIK he was pulled out as a precaution before KO.

That's just sensible. And you can't blame the lad for wanting to represent his country...unless it's England like.
