Awfull simply awfull! 2 losses in 17 games 2 behind villa 3 behind the shyte, beat Manu, chelsea and the double over cccsshhiitttyy (first team to win there this season).
Really some of you want to sort yourselves out .If someone had said in Dec.we can still make europe come May you´d have laughed out loud.
The squad we have when fit is a match for any in the league and I truley believe great things are round the corner if we can keep them together .

Oh shut up. Read what I've been saying. It's not about beating Man City or Man U. It's about beating the little teams too, if we want to progress, and I was asking a question about the mental state of the team to take that next step.

Hate posts like this who don't read all the posts and make a judgement.

Expected something of this to be honest. PLayed on the Wednesday away against a team that had not lost on there home ground and we grinded a massive win for the club. Come Saturday and everyone expects we should win at the very least against a club fighting for survival, are in good form, have a strong defence and most importantly playing at home. I for one am quite glad they didn't score early because we would have been done. Next week are no excuses though and we must now run out the season as we have some good rest inbetween now.

Missing Arteta today was crucial for me today.

he dictates the game, and rodwell and cahill are too similar.

what we need is a clone of arteta or a player very similar to him so we can rotate or mix things up.

the finishing was poor today, but i think there was also a big carry over of fatigue from wednesday night. especially in midfield.

to me the workrate was well done and we didn't get close enough and let them play more than we should of.

things to be worked on by moyes... but i'm not into this crucifixion stuff on here.

wolves were delighted by the draw. everton gutted about the draw.

how times have changed for us. we just need that bit extra and moyes is i don't doubt looking for it.

i've had confirmation from a "source" that Beckford's coming in the summer from leeds (source at leeds).

add mucha, the Portuguese lad Silva and maybe a midfielder (see) above and a cover left back and i think we're getting there.

but i trust moyes to balance the squad.

he said this week, we're after some "odds and ends" but otherwise we have a good squad.

today we saw what he was on about. the odds and ends are the ability to continue un interrupted without arteta. and even better with him! thats the key.

coyb.

PS. just back from Wolves. fcking knackered after an all day bender :dodgy:

Agree with you there but with or without Arteta I think we should still have the skill and poise to knck off team like Wolves. Still I saw it coming and maybe just maybe this could be the wake up0 call we need to get going.

I'll say this with a straight face.

If this team stays together next year, we get Fellaini back, and sign Donovan. And most importatly, stay away from the massive injury bug.

It could challenge for the title. On paper.

That said, we'd need to learn to show the consistency that Chelsea and ManU do that they find a way to win even when they aren't playing well and they take maximum points most of the time when they're expected to.

If we can learn that mentality, we could do it.

I agree with you Bill. Someone mentioned earlier that we are seen as a scalp by many clubs in the league now. Even holding us to a draw at home when you only manage one decent shot on target was being pretty loudly celebrated yesterday.

We must take the mentality that we have earned that status and play with confidence which we did for a lot of the game. On another day we could have come away with 3 or 4. Moyes made an error on his subs for many of us including myself when Cahill stayed on. 442 should have been given a bit of time. Saha didn't seem to be noticeably flagging to me.

The squad of players we have at the moment with modest addition is capable of top four next year, though certain long term favourites will need to show they are still automatic selections.

Teams are showing us massive resepct Spurs had thier entire team behind the ball yesterday and we still created chances on a normal day and with a bit of luck we would have scored three.

We need two more outlets in the team in wide areas if we are to push on next season IMO.

In the past 2 or 3 seasons, we have shown through large sections of the season that we can produce championship winning form (2 points a game or more) over 15 games in a row or so. It's just the thought of doing that sounds ludicrous.

I think we can definitely challenge for 4th.

no wonder we didn't get a goal against them mate, given the distance from where we were playing:lol:
