we'll sell him abroad and he'll be pretty good there and people will start crying and saying we were wrong to sell him etc. but it's fairly clear he's not physically or mentally cut out for this league. I would still keep him and give him a good role as a squad player because he could be a useful weapon off the bench and in europe, but doubt he'd be happy with that.

Spot on mate

I do agree he's very important depth for Europe, I don't see any reason why we wouldn't try to bring him back.

Only question I guess is would he want to come back.

Starter for the 7 times EC winners at the San Siro every other week or warming our bench waiting to replace a chicken with no head for ten minutes per game?

We should have never loaned him out. We had the option of using Deulofeu to turn games, now he's had a taste of that in Italy he'll be begging his agent to get a permanent move.

In fairness mate the quality of the AC Milan team he is starting for is not in the same league as the ones that won multiple European cups/Champions leagues.

I'd rather we kept him too, but I think it was Deulefeu who drove this as he wasn't content with a bit part from the bench. I also think he may have been a disruptive influence in the changing room too, given that he wasn't even making the squad at times in January. There's only one outcome in those scenarios.

However I think it was a big mistake to let him go out on loan without getting a like for like player in during the window, especially with Bolasie being out.

It'll turn out to be another Mustafi situation. Mark my words - we're going to regret this massively.
To be fair here, two different everton managers have decided not to play him. If he was as good a prospect as we used to all agree he was then there would be no way he would be let go, especially considering Aaron Lennon has stayed in the mean time over him, and formerly Deloufeu was dropped for Lennon last season.
