Got to say i feared the worst at the start of the season, thought he was another one in a long line of over hyped English players not reaching their potential. Some tough love from Koeman seems to be making a massive difference though. These last few weeks he has really steeped up and is starting to look like he will become the great player we hoped he would be.

I'm not one to stick up for Dave, he deserves all he gets, but I very much doubt he was trying to criticise Barkley as a player.

That's because you are lucky enough to live in the USA. We have to put up with the likes of him being a pundit and, although I didn't watch it, apparently criticising his performances this season on last weeks MOTD2.

Knowing Dave, I'd assume his angle is that Barkey was better under Martinez than he is under Koeman rather than it be about Barkley's ability.

I may be wrong, although that is very unlikely.

I didn't say it all along, but after the Derby defeat I had a meltdown and I can now happily adit I was well well wrong and Martin Keown was right.

I'm honest and grown up enough to admit that I was wrong with my criticism of Barkley earlier in the season; recently he's been sensational.
