Hate seeing talented players carrying on when their time is up.

It must be hard for a sportsman to realise their body can no longer compete but there comes a point when you have to stop or you tarnish the good memories you have created. Father time waits for no one.

Both Barry and the fabulous servant that is Jagielka are no longer at the required level.

That's where the manager should be stepping and putting a stop to to it. I just don't know what Koeman was thinking today, usually when you disagree with a decision you can at least see what was trying to be achieved but I really can't fathom it today.

Utter garbage. I used to say well he is was a very good player and is now past it but as a footballer in the premiership he is utter garbage now.

I think that should be the last time he starts against top 7 opposition. He would be ok starting against weaker teams or coming on to shore things up in last 10 minutes but ultimately no longer good enough. Next season if we get Europa I would have him as our midweek captain playing in Europe and EFL Cup.

Can't see him start ahead of Schniderlin, Gana, McCarthy and Davies. Maybe the club will sign more new CM too.

We don't need anymore defensive central midfielders. I just think in Europe where play is usually slower he could still do a job and if we are using younger players his experience will be invaluable. He is a model pro but his legs have gone and he gets found out in big games.

True if he accepts as a bit player.

I know what you are saying, but he's not good enough against anyone at this point. He doesn't give us anything going forward more than what Morgan, Ghana, or Davies do at this point. And defensively, he's a huge liability. There also aren't that many BAD teams in the league anymore. Maybe Sunderland.

I think the problem is that Schneiderlin literally does everything that Barry CAN do. THATS WHY WE BOUGHT HIM

We need to lose this sentimentality that shrouds us. Too much misplaced loyalty in players well past their best. He shouldn't start again. We have to be ruthless and stop accepting dross. The premier league is a mobile league. Cannot afford passengers against teams with the physicality of Spurs.
You're absolutely right, but unfortunately we've given Barry another year on his contract. Baffling.
