..ah, the perils of ante-post. I backed one for the RSA last week called Acapella Bourgois @ 40-1. It ran like a real good thing in Ireland on Sunday and the price has now collapsed. It can work out sometimes but even if they get to post they still have to do the business.
I was all over one of Channons years ago ante post for the guineas. Bint allal or something.
Godolphin bought it for about a gazzilion pounds.
It died over the winter.
I should swerve ante post, but i like to have a bit on in advance as im quite capable of doing my nuts first day at Cheltenham.

...I've got about 20 for Cheltenham. Some have bitten the dust but I only have a few quid on and rarely back anything in single figure prices. I try and cover the championship races, this year I've got Yanworth for the Champion Hurdle @ 16-1 and Djakadam for the Gold Cup @ 12-1. I don't particularly fancy either now but I can concentrate on the handicaps when the day arrives.

Generally speaking I do ok on the ante post but it is a mugs game.

Apparently no favourite has won a handicap since 2015, so if by some miracle you can find 2 or 3 handicap winners you're in clover.

Yes, I gave up ante post betting years ago.

Truly a mug's game.
