I'd rather have Martinez back

Listening to him on the Sunday morning show yesterday was a stark reminder of why I lost respect for him, he's full of bull. I reckon he is just not very bright and works hard to disguise it, but in the final analysis he is completely superficial, no depth or consistency to his thinking borne out by the utter drivel that emanates from his lips, history on the go and a total revisionist. Good riddance.

I liked Martinez initially as his football was a breath of fresh air from what we were used to. Thought he would go on to be good manager. We soon found out he believes in himself and his methods too much to the extent he wouldn't change. He was loathe to drop players even if they had a couple of stinkers. Now we have a manager that has us playing different formations to suit that particular game and can change things during the course of a match. Doesn't pamper to players and will not tolerate slackness and lack of work ethic. He knows when something isn't working and will change it unlike Martinez. Players are now on there toes rather than going through motions. Stubborness is the problem with Martinez. He cannot see or refuses to see when things are not going right.

Top coaches respond to change, whether it's players form, ability or events on the pitch. Eddie Jones of England is a fine example and when you consider how he manages to find a winning formula, introduce new players and adapt to circumstances you realise how utterly clueless Martinez is in comparison, feet of clay and brains of sh*t. I know Moomin was joking, but there are others who still hold him in high regard and I just don't get it.

I held him in high regard even in his final season. I was under the impression that we were going through the one step back and 2 steps forward period and clung on to that in hope until bang! and it finally dawned on me that he was totally useless and unflexible. Koeman now brings an honesty to us on and off the pitch. He doesn't let players get carried away if they have a good performance and quickly brings them back down to earth. His honest assessment of a match also is refreshing to hear rather than the over positive BS that Martinez tried to ram down our throats.
