You're not suggesting the players in bold have been given a chance this season are you? Do me a favour.
We have an ageing senior team. Moyes makes the point himself today, but he chooses to keep faith with Neville and the Yak who have offered practically **** all this season and lets Coleman and Vaughan go. I take your point about Rodwell and Gosling, but I feel he's being too conservative in this run in.

If by chance you mean - had the oppurtunity to play senior football this season - yes, while the majority were also playing in the FA Youth Cup. Coleman is debateable, after following his progress i dont think hes ready to be starting games in the Prem a loan stint is exactly what he needs to learn and develop consistencey - the talent is there for everyone to see its about doing it regularly and developing an understanding and balance in his game between offence and attack- just as Baines had to for the season and a half he was on the bench. How many of the above lads do you want to see starting the next games and who will they replace mate?

Based on what? His debut was rocky for understandable reasons, but he didn't put a foot wrong thereafter in the two or three appearances he made. Can you see Liverpool sending young Martin Kelly out on loan who's made the breakthrough this season? I cant. If the're good enough, play them. This is a stupid decision. It's indefensible.

I'd for sure give Baxter, Coleman and Duffy a game. If you dont think Distin can be improved upon by Duffy's inclusion I sugget you take up knitting as a hobby. Ditto Coleman's virues over the dullard Neville. Baxter has shown enough to me that he can handle the pressure in the middle of the park.

I restate: there's nothing to lose here this season. An ideal opportunity to experiment and confirm assumptions.

Based on what i have seen of him for us and playing a lot of full 90 mins for the u21's over here, as i said above he lacks a balance in his play between defence and attack - and his decison making around same of when to stick or go forward. That has been evident despite immpressive performences creatively offesively in all the games he played. His best game against Spurs i recolect defensively he was caught out of position on a few occasions and the centrehalfs had to come across to cover for him at leat a dozen times. He also impressed against Carlisle i repeat Carlise! Lets give him the benefit of the doubt against Benfica. The lads going to have a long term future with us, hes in the porocess of agreeing a new deal, yet he is the first to admit he needs to develop and not the player he is going to be - yet he needs expierence to develop and games are something we cant offer him given as i beleive, we still have aspirations for the season. Do i think he offers more to the team then, European Cup wining, world cup expierenced Phil Neville, no!

In regard to Duffy over Distin, Duffy is also going ot be stalwart for us, against Bate huge was fantastic but again he made errors in that game. Hes not ready either is Baxter and tell me who yout of Arteta, Heitinga, Pienaar, Rodwell, Gosling, Donovan you would drop to give him a chance. Distin a good player you will see that now with a settled back four.

I dont think its a question of giving youth a chance we clearly do in fact i thnk you would find it hard to find another team - who gives youth more of an oppurtunity. Its more or less a question of have you written of the season or not yet, persoally i havnt.

Reagrdless of the talent we have, the three players you mentioned over thirty have proven they can get to and win major cup finals, perform in and qualify for Europe - but hey lets play the kids and throw away a few million!

He played that well defensively against Spurs that Redknapp switched Lennon over to face Coleman from the other wing before recognising that Coleman had the speed and strenght to neutralise Lennon. You're right that Hibbert helped him out, but that's what CB are there to do. They dont just stay in their central berth for 90 minutes. I see Baines get out of the [Poor language removed] every week with a CB covering him.

Duffy made one "error" if you can call it that all night: he let the ball deflect off him into the net! Hardly blotted his copybook there did he?

Baxter: this is the whole point...just leave someone (anyone) out to confirm that he can, indeed, cut muster. Fit him into a midfield formation and let's see what happens.

I dont know whay you haven't written the season off...what are you hoping for? The big danger here is seeing players go out and not come back: the Everton Way - a cheap sale for financial expediency. You're simply not seeing this, or choose not to see it.

Yes, exactly, they've proven it. Let someone from the squad (we have got a squad haven't we?) get their chance to show what they can do. As for throwing afew million away: you dont have much faith in our first team squad members, do you?

Thats the crux of it really you have wirtten the season of and are prepared to take a punt into the unknown - thats fair enough if we had nothing to play for with 3 or 4 games to go i can see the sense in giving the young lads a run out. If we continue to make up the points differential like we have since Jan we can still qualify for Europe - i havent given up.

Its optimium Vs pessimism really.

Basicly you think the season is over already.

You think qualification for the Europa League is a major priority? Moyes cant handle the strategy demaded in Europe and we get to play another 6-10 games with an already overstretched squad. Not much of a pay off there. Realism v Forrest Gumpism is the choice on offer.

It certainly is!

And yes European qualification should always be a priority for our club.

Lol you dont want to play an extra six or ten games and then moaning because the youngsters cant get a chance. Werent you hearlding giving the young lads a game against AZ ten posts go, and a lot of the kids got a chance against Bate.

Bate and the AZ game: two matches we gave untested players the chance to shine in. Not much of a pay off in terms of running the rule over them is it?

If we have half a squad not being given a chance to prove themselves against top quality opposition when the season is over in all but name, then it doesn't deserve the name "squad" does it really? This is the point you're missing.

I don't understand why is there a need to learn his trade elsewhere when he has better coach, learning environment, great players in the team who can guide/advise him better here at Everton.
If we had played him regularly rather than hibbert 4 mths ago I'm sure he'll be a much improved player than he is now.
Don't understand why there's so much criticism on our most promising right back we've seen in a decade.

And he's gone, he's bowled him straight down the middle.

stumps all over the show*

GET KISSOCK ON.

In fairness I'd like to see more of Coleman this season but as much as I rant, I don't take training every day.

I would think running the rule over them is for our benefit rather then managers to be fair he sees them all day every day - hes made his judgement, if your a fan - you say in Moyes we trust, if your not you question his decions meh - i think its the right one after seeing the lad more then most.

Apart from that, im pretty sure everyone at the club doesnt feel the season is over and i feel what we are playing is our strongest squad, im not sure what you mean about half the squad not being used - im struggleing to think of anyone in the first team squad who hasnt played games this season, in fact we have played most of the youth team squad as well.
