You've lost me here?

You wanted him to fail, so you think it's acceptable that players don't show up and take responsibility when playing for Everton, so you get your desired end result and can say "I told you so".

In other words, absolutely no reason applied.

Well that's simply not true, I wanted Everton to win, I support Everton, not its managers not its players. I wanted him to succeed, unfortunately he was never ever going to. That doesn't mean I wanted Everton to lose to be right on the internet. That'd be a pathetic way to conduct oneself.

The players were disillusioned with him. Football (rightly or wrongly) is littered with players 'not playing for the manager' the question is why? I'd put it to you that they knew he was taking us down, they acted and got rid of him. I say good on them, that's the professional thing to do.

Ok

By the Leicester game? Do you think there was a chance he could've turned it around at that point?

That was a case of all is well that ends well.

I could vault myself a thousand times over being made up when we won under him and gutted after all of the defeats if you'd like?

The crowd turned nasty because the crowd is generally angry, negative and impatient unless everything goes our way all the time. It's that passion that makes playing at Goodison such a difficult place to play, for away teams when things are going well, and for home teams when things aren't.

My only argument in defence of Martinez is the players should take a bigger proportion of the blame for what happened last year, and that his entire reign shouldn't be reduced to "he was lucky in the 1st year and most of the credit goes to Moyes, and everything after that was [Poor language removed] and his fault" . All I suggest is a more reasoned, balanced view, and with some consideration to mitigating circumstances.

The end result is the same either way, he lost his job and we are where we are.

All part of the Greater plan, if you believe in such things.

2 seasons. The crowd endured the horror shows at home for 2 seasons. You got the worst ever home records last season no wonder people were fumed.

By Leicester? No. The players and fans had made the position untenable.

Do I think he could've turned it round had he had support from both earlier on, without turning against him for their own ends? Absolutely. In fact, had he had that support, I'm not sure things would've needed turning round.

But like I keep saying, it's in the past now.

Well that's fair.

but like I say, if by the Leicester game the players downed tools to see the job through then I was all for it.

You're not the only one who has accursed me of wanting them to lose for me to be right, but no issues with that, if it makes them feel better about being wrong about Martinez then I'm glad I could ease the suffering.

Not even remotely what I've said Ian.

I've said that a poster who tells porkies on this account (and his previous account) has no real right to demand a call to action from the moderation team.

Jinky not being able to take a vaulting again. Gooooooooooooooooooooooooal
Previous account ?

No offence mate, but I've had my season ticket for 21 years. This is not a new thing.

Yea Everton won nothing since 1995 but last season home records must be worse than the records under the Walter Smith's regime. It is non defendable.

There's a difference between defending the last two season's under Martinez and his overall record here, which as has been stated today on GoS included a record first season and cup runs. For three seasons in charge that is not bad at all. And the last two seasons here also does not pipe anyone down from highlighting his pre and post Everton career.

In short: those continuing their attempts to ridicule Martinez and those who still hold him in respect dont really have a clue about football imo.

Did you read that before you posted it?

'Boo hoo' squeal the mob 'an articulate, intelligent poster of long good standing on the site has an opinion different to mine and has the audacity to be consistent with it, waaaah won't the moderation team please intervene as we're not smart enough to debate it with him'
LOL. Utter LOL.

Articulate, yes. Intelligent, undoubtedly. Consistent, without fail.

None of these factors are the issue in question. Several posters have eloquently and comprehensively dissected his ranting, exposing the many flaws. He just keeps trolling.
