Think it's SCCT for the wages - €7m increase allowed from this season.

FFP is only for teams in European competition

So if you dont get into Europe you dont have to worry and can blow as much as you want the following season tryong to get into Europe? Does that mean it might for that reason be better to miss out on EL qualification?

Not really no - it's done over a number or rolling seasons. You cant have massive losses year on year i.e. you can't continually sign players on massive deals if your earings aren't covering it (no sugar daddy buying them anymore)

City got around this by a ridiculous naming rights agreement on the ethiad.

Unfortunately there is now a "market value" rule on this type of deal now. Ethiad paid £250m for the naming rights - I think the next highest bid was less than £30m. They wouldn't get away with that now.

Dammit. Probably rehashed ad nauseam, but still, shucks.

Thing is that surely Finch Farm has set a precedent of deemed to be commercially acceptable, so if FF is worth 4m per year what price our shiny riverside sexually arousing stadium?
200 mil for 20 years payable up-front to a bank account of my choice seems perfectly reasonable in my humble opinion.

I'm surprised these rules/restrictions have not been tested in the courts.

No fan here of sugar daddy investment but it seems very restrictive all this, in the context of other clubs massively exploiting the opportunities that came their way before all this was formalised.

How is this "fair play" if there is an effective ceiling on investment below the elite level?
