If you compare the doss and crap results in the last 2 seasons then we are making significant progress.

The fact that the likes of Southampton, Stoke, Leicester and West Ham all looked miles ahead of us last season are all 8 points+ behind us tells me RK has done a good job.

For me get a top quality partner up top for Rom and a solid CB in before the window shuts and providing we stick to this 3-5-2 I can seriously see us challenging Utd for 6th place. Providing the top 6 win both cups this season I think Europe is all but guaranteed for 7th.

I am firmly of the belief, and have been for a while, that 2, maybe 3 of the current top 6 have potential calamity written all over them.

There just seems to be a bounce in the side these last few weeks. Whether thats the Tom Davies effect, (I doubt), Rom being in beast mode, or just a step change in attitude, application, and fitness, no idea.

But liking this Everton. Mean, snidey, playing some good stuff, while not rolling over.

Top 4? Depends on a few others imploding. Scared of playing anyone? Not even a little bit.

Totally agree both, it's definitely an improvement on the majority of the last two seasons.

I think top 4 is fanciful but I agree, we should aim high. I think 7th is about as much as we can go for and I think Koeman is both responsible positively and to blame constructively. All teams go through peaks and troughs but the manner in which we played earlier in the season was a recipe for disaster. He needs to take responsibility for that. Instead, he seemed to blame everyone else.
Now though, we get the ball down and play. That's all personally I want from Everton: to get the ball down and play. It's unrealistic to think we can get higher than 4th in a one off season with the sides ahead of. Leicester was a miracle.
Let's hope we see steady progression rather than promise turning sour like we had under my beloved Roberto!

Just feel Koeman is doing a pretty good job. He forces the players to press and be ruthless. The mentality is changing like Coleman had indicated as players fear they are the next one to be shipped out.

The next 4/5 matches will be vital. Got to win the next few midtable sides to close the gaps...and if this happens it truly represent something has changed as the team finally break the barrier, that is to win the supposed "lesser" oppositions to climb the table whereas in the old days the team failed to do so.

Well it was one weekend in isolation.

But. Liverpool lost to Swansea, and it was not a fluke. Arsenal just beat Burnley, (probably deserved to tbh). United were delighted with a point at Stoke, Spurs and City, well, one of those weird ones that match.

We battered Palace. Battered, and a 0 4, ok, 1 4, would not have been a surprise.

One week after rolling City over 4 0.

A few new faces in the team and a binning off of some stale ones and look what happens. My only criticism is that it took so long, we persisted with the 4-2-3-1 and the likes of Jagielka, Cleverley, Lennon and McCarthy for too long. Quite a few on here were calling for Davies and Holgate to be in the team months ago, and calling for two up front for the best part of 2 years. Lo and behold, look as us now we've done it, we look a completely different side.

Why do you want us to finish 5th?

5th is a nothing placing, its the same as 7th in a season in which it gives us European football.
