Koeman and Moshini have to be judged against a realistic yardstick. To say it is failure to finish 7th and not win a cup in the first year is foolish. A 7th place finish with some youth in the side and having some clout in the summer transfer window would, in my opinion, be significant improvement.
Next season, as the expectations rise, then so does the need to win a cup and mount a serious challenge on a top six finish.
Everton could finish 6th or even 5th this season but it would be slightly surprising but an Everton which has been improved further can certainly expect to be in the mix with the six clubs above us.

Agreed.

11th and 13th then Koeman turns this team to 7th. Progress that is.

To say Koeman shall turn this squad without his signings into top 6 material is silly. Who was able to do that? Merely Sir Alex Ferguson?

...it's a pretty fair estimate that they've relaxed becuase there is no intensity about these games now - nothing at stake. It's just what these players do. They have skill, but they have no heart.

If they finish this season 5th or above it will be 7 seasons out of 8 they haven't finished outside the top 5, Finishing in CL places 3 times, 4 if they do it this time around

So, nah, there is no substantial extra challenging facing Koeman that the previous two didn't face...and face up to and deal with. And Koeman will have his feet held to the fire on that too.

But your saying the seasons over and we can't catch the top six, even thought we have 48 points left to play for and 5 of the 6 still play. Make your mind up

9, 7 we were still well off the pace.

1) any given Saturday there are 19 teams that are sometimes hard to pass
2) The evidence of the Table says there are 6 above us who are, over a measurable period, demonstrably better...at the moment
3) no, my thrust, as you so graphically put it, says its not as easy now

2 questions, well part a) and b) of the same one.
What will it take for you to buy the fire lighters and/or how long will you give him.

I enjoy your little wind ups - but only up to the point before you start believing yourself... have to admit you do it all so rather well.

So for that reason - for the moment, I'm out.

New stadium generating huge revenue, good manager who knows what he is doing. If spurs are vulnerable it will be because one of the big Spanish teams pinch one or two of their players.
As a club, we fell well behind when last they pushed on and nearly won the league.

Arnt they playing their home games at Wembley next season?

Bit of an unknown that. Lob in losing a player or two, Poch maybe being picked up by Barca/RM/etc etc. Could be a few surprises at The Lane.
