David James made a point about repeating that it was a deflection on that well renowned radio show talk sport. So we must be wrong and he's right, just like when he predicted us finishing 16th in 13/14. Bitter RS can't even let us have a scrap of something to celebrate.
For me yeah it clipped part of the defenders leg , maybe took it a bit higher in the air, but it didn't change direction it was always heading for the goal. Davies dinked it up that was the hard part , it was on its way in , if he'd have struck it hard and low it would probably cannoned off the leg and gone back behind him.

Well at this stage Gana is the first name on the team sheet, so in a 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1, that leaves him fighting with Schneiderlin (and/or Barry, McCarthy, Besic) for the second spot at the base of midfield.

To the point @Zezti made, if you assume Schneiderlin wins his starting spot soon enough, the only way Davies starts consistently in the EPL is in a diamond midfield. That formation is one which could work well as Coleman and Baines like getting forwards anyway so they would provide the width. The downside, however, is that it leaves the centre halves exposed ... and neither Williams nor Mori have the pace to recover if they are stretched, so personally I don't know Koeman will be playing that formation purely to accommodate Davies.

Think he's gonna be third choice once Schniederlin is fit and gana is back
You'd expect Schneiderlin to cement his position and therefore he'd be competing against a strong Gana and the defensive McCarthy and Barry.

Arguably Davies is the most offensive minded, creative player out of that selection so it may simply boil down to who we're playing at the time.

He looks a great"prospect", hopefully another local lad in the side will be remove some of the weight from Barkleys shoulders,we have to stick with him and support him if he has patches when things go wrong.

He shouldn't be starting every game. It'll only take a few mediocre performances and then the crowd will turn. The amount of pressure put upon Barkley has definitely had an impact on his progress. I'd like to see Davies in and out of the side, keep him fresh and eager to play and then in the coming seasons he'll become a regular. His ability is undeniably good - so the important thing is how and when we play him. Sunday was a big step for him and his career though.

People please chill. You done the same with Martinez in 2014, the level of expectation our fans put on players is insane
Exactly - you'd almost think reading through some of the posts on this thread that an 18 y/o kid should be ahead of one of these two players in the pecking order:
- A French international who just signed for 25m and has played for the manager previously
- A Senagalese international who it is fair to say would probably be in the EPL team of the season at this stage.

Tom's time will come, and if things work out he will be playing for Everton for another 15+ years. February 2017 is arguably a little early for that time to arrive!

Why does it matter how old he is? If he's playing well he's in the team.
