Think he has realised that we are crap at transfers and can't understand why we don't get them sorted much quicker, or easier.

We play like poo, are out of both cups, and it feels like we're pretty lucky to be in 7th.

We're Everton. It's depressing.

But if we can't even buy a new midfield, I won't be too harsh on Koeman. Would have hoped he could do something with what we had. He can't. Neither could Martinez (or Moyes really). Replace them. See if he can do a job then.

7th is nothing. Even Roberto could have got us 7th with about 5 more wins. plus if he hadn't got so depressing we might have won a cup. we were beating man city in the league cup and the fact he had John Stones at right back and threw it away was the final straw for some.

He wasn't blaming the defeat the other day on a lack of deals.

He was just saying that it would be blatantly obvious we need more players if you watched that game, which is what we've all said...

That is blaming the squad though isn't it? He basically said the players weren't up to it and demanded new ones.

I can't believe how many people are defending Koeman's attitude. I am in no way advocating getting rid of him but he has to do better. We undoubtedly need to overhaul the squad but that doesn't excuse the mistakes he's made and the awful football he's been serving up. He's not even trying to get the team to play football.

He messed up against Leicester and then proceeded to deflect attention by attacking the board. I'm not saying the board aren't also having a nightmare but is he saying that we are out of the FA cup because we didn't sign Schneiderlin in time? If we'd managed to beat Leicester, like we should have, no one would be going mental now. In fact, I think we'd be pretty happy with it looking as though we'll have two good signings less than two weeks into the window.

Because I prefer a manager who speaks his mind and the truth rather than saying everything is great while all our eyes see that it is not.

Pretty funny how people defend koeman by citing that we're 7th in the league but then are happy to call the players crap because we're 7th in the league...

They are lying to themselves because it makes them feel better about a situation that in the back of their heads (where they keep their minds) they are starting to worry that he's a chancer without any real substance.

He absolutely despises his players here at Everton.

Do you think it's possible that he could have engineered deals for new players without throwing almost every single current player under the bus and destroying morale a few months in? I mean maybe not for an average manager but for such a genius surely?

Having it known publicly that he despises his players isn't something a lot of people brandished as a great move prior to the Koeman era.

In fact many were lashing out at Mourinho because that's his main move and we were all sick of him doing it every time his team under-performed.

Doubt it. This lot of bottlers needed jibbing off way before Koeman even got here. I'm glad he's at least trying to do it.

I remember everyone talked about how much of a bottler Moyes (and his players) was and once we got rid of him everything was going to be great. At the time it sounded like a nonsense -- just a reactionary label that meant nothing in reality but just made a certain type of person people feel better. It's almost as if "bottler" isn't 100% of the equation here but how could such a meticulously researched and factually backed up label not accurately describe everything we need to know about people in football?

Anyway never mind the facts of our past ... once we clean up the new bottlers out of the swamp everything will be fine right?

He was absolutely spot on with that. Case in point being GERI who - for a player of that age - was getting wrecked very very quickly, genuinely don't think the kid can do 90 mins ATM.

That said, and this may be me being uber-critical, but WILLIAMS looks decidedly slower than he was and also appears to have put weight on....

He's a master motivator and our fitness is 100 times better and if not it's the players fault (for not realizing he's a master motivator).

Interestingly enough he was accused of that by Ivan Helguera at Valencia who said:

"It really upsets me that the coach can say that the absence of the centre halves is causing all the problems. First of all, he said nothing to me but he went and said it to the press. It seems to me that there is a lack of respect from him towards his players who were doing everything they could not to lose that game."

Just guessed that one based on his behavior here so far. Leopards and all. Then again I am just basing my opinion on the things he says and does rather than Koeman's big fancy baby boomer tough talking costume that certain people think is so fashionable these days.

It sounds like he's a coward who constantly publicly blames anyone other than himself for problems ... but that's just how it sounds to me because I'm a straight shooter who tells it like it is just like Koeman.

Been quoting Valencia articles since we were linked with him...yet for some inane reason people have twisted his time there as 'successful'.

The point is his response to everything is he needs new players. I posted that quote because he was saying the same thing then but at that time it was clearly rubbish because Emery came in and with the same squad of players finished third. Flores before Koeman replaced him also had them 4th. I've no doubt we need some new players but he is failing to get the best out of the current players and that's down to his management.

So he's been wrong before about this then?

These are facts. Yes ten years ago facts ... but facts nonetheless.

You're gone if you don't think it's at least moderately relevant to today when he's doing the same act here. Yes it may be ten years ago in reality but Koeman doesn't seem to care ... to him it appears this act is still fresh!

It's not 100% of the equation like labeling someone a "bottler" but it's interesting data nonetheless.

1. Every single manager we had hired in the past was a Grade below "the best" - with little or no pedigree or historic winning record of titles and the like - don't get me wrong we got it right with Catterick and Kendall (and to a lesser extent Moyes and Royle of course, we can get it right) but against them there was a Kelly, Buchan, Bingham, Lee, Harvey and Oswald Smith - oh and then Walker and Martinez and so on and so on. Finally, in Koeman, we pick a man with some pedigree, titles and ambition.

His pedigree (the stuff you like) is almost entirely as a player though.

While I don't doubt there was someone who is happy to vault themselves that they were on the "our players are absolute crap" bandwagon from the second Martinez was fired I'm calling BS on this being anything but a relatively recent fad for the majority.

People wanted Martinez fired because they thought 11th was WAY too low with this group and to suggest 7th is the level EVERYONE BELIEVED THESE PLAYERS WERE AT is absurd revisionist history.

People thought Geri was a great player when he was among the league leaders in assists and chances created -- now he's a bottler who needs to be jibed off?

I think Koeman is smart.

I don't think he's the right manager for Everton but of course he's smart.

In PR you know what you are doing when you "take responsibility" and then "just happen to mention other things."

You get to say you took responsibility (because there is technically a quote in there somewhere) and who could have possibly known the media and fans would latch onto the other stuff he mentioned?

It's not just A move in PR it's THE move in PR these days.

He knew what he was doing there and the media and fan narrative has mostly followed along the path he laid out for the sheep.

Maye he's right ... but that does not change the fact he purposefully deflected criticism away from him and onto the players and board.

To claim he took responsibility is naive or willful cooperation with his narrative.

You may think that's smart -- I may think it's because he cares more about his brand and his next job than the impact his actions has on Everton.

That's why I'm worried about him because I look at the things he says and does and he obviously does not have Everton as his top priority.

If you think he does I suggest it's because you don't fully appreciate the way he is manipulating you and the media.

You can see his true intentions if you look they are as clear as day.

P.S. Sorry for facts and multi-quote I know it triggers a lot of you super sensitive types ... I mean you're totally not bothered by it and will let us all know how not bothered you are ... everyone believes you. NSNO! ... sorry ... MEGA!
