I'd have preferred 'The Alan Irwin Purple Dildo Training Complex' myself, but as long as this deal brings in the dollar, it's all fine with me.

I can't get too excited about Usmanov though, as he seems to be committed to Arsenal, and you can't have shareholdings in two clubs. Though if he's a shareholder by stealth (i.e. - through shady backdoor dealings and creative business arrangements - but especially (and preferably) through shady backdoor dealings), with Mosh as the front man, that's also perfectly fine with me.

MAN United AON sponsors theirs I believe
Here
"Trafford Training Centre (currently known as the Aon Training Complex for sponsorship reasons and usually referred to as Carrington) is the training ground and academy headquarters of English football club Manchester United F.C.
Fair enough, United is a bit different to us doing it though as they have been ahead on that sort of thing for years. Not like we are playing catch up with most of the rest of the league on this.

What's in it for Usmanov though? As a sponsor, can he really make £75m back through commercial revenue?

The 75 million is for both shirt sponsorship and Finch Farm. The Echo reckons the FF deal will be around 4 million a year.

Whether or not a holding company can really justify that commercially is a good question. But, to put it into context, Aon spend 20 million a year sponsoring Man United's equivalent so a precedent's been set and 4 million for us compared to 20 million for Utd seems about ballpark right so the value shouldn't give us any grief with the authorities.

I think the four million will include finch farm, website, matchday visibility etc etc.

If it was just finch farm, I'd expect about 1.5 million at least of it to be paid to LCC.

Whether LCC are entitled to anything I suppose is in the small print. Anybody know if MCC got anything from the Etihad deal?

This is the first time I have ever seen or heard United's training ground referred to as owt other than "Carrington".

This bears out the belief held by many on here that there is not a great deal by way of publicity in sponsoring training grounds, Sky reporters stood outside on transfer deadline day being the only time I ever see a reporter and cameras hanging around outside one.

IMO this is definitely a way of bringing investment into the club in a manner which fits the FPP rules rather than a genuine PR exercise on behalf of Carter.
