Moshiri said in his interview that he would like to win the FA Cup but that a good position in the Premier League is more important.

Koeman's contract has another two and a half years to run. As I have said in a previous post, if he is a roaring success he will move on. If not, he'll move on. Walsh I just don't see as a stayer. I think he will either move with Koeman or retire in the next 3 - 4 years.
Is it just your own opinion about koeman and Walsh then, you made it sound ad if some hunts were dropped or something was said. Koeman going wouldn't be a surprise, unless its to barca, but Walsh I thought would be here a while.

The money isn't for BMD though, it's for the entire road infrastructure around the area for road improvements due to the potential increase in road traffic from L2.

The bridge is being strengthened and then CPO's have been issued on businesses to widen derby road and great Howard street
Yes, that's true. The council are also committed to the "ten streets" project in the area. All this is good news, I think, as the infrastructure in the whole area will be upgraded.

There's massive growth in the area already. The company who renovated the titanic hotel have a bigger project for the tobacco warehouse, Canada exchange has gone up at the bottom of bank hall lane

It's a major route into the city and it was a requirement to ensure that area was improved

Yes, it is my opinion. Nothing was said to say they would both be leaving, but nothing was said about them being here for the long-term either.
Walsh is 65 and has no real ties to the club. As other posters have speculated, he may be here for 5 years rather than 3.

I'm a little crestfallen that the stadium still seems a far bit further off than I would have hoped, especially the part where suntan bob said we need to get the finances sorted to make it viable (i thought the ends were now meeting like a [poor language removed]....???)

Perhaps that is a ploy to make Peel think we will walk away but I hardly think they would buy that.

The sponsorship news is however totally positive and it feels like a real push away from the likes of Stoke/Sunderland/Southampton etc. and closer to Spurs which is what we need to do to be able to compete.

I like Moshiri and I think he will change our club for the better however the timescales are going to be a lot longer than any of us would want. Patience is required and that for a modern football fan is a lot to ask.

Yes, I think we will all need a bit more patience - especially me!
Moshiri in his interview did say that there was now a window in which we could make the effort to catch up with the top six, but he wasn't specific on how long that would be or why it was a window and not an ongoing opportunity.

Has there been any hints about the "new" sponsor? SportPesa were mentioned a while back.

I'll take whatever comes our way if they dig into their pockets deeply enough but I'd prefer something more reputable and sophisticated than a gambling business.

I'm also intrigued about the sponsorship for FF and the academy. Is this the norm for the elite? I thought any "significant" sponsorship we might secure would only be in the context of shirt/kit sponsorship, and not the academy.

I also wonder if the success of EITC has not gone unnoticed in the wider corporate context. Whilst this is excellent in its own right and something for the club to be rightly very proud of, if it has spin-off benefits by association for the football club/brand, then so much the better for us.

He must have forgotten the £23m the council spent on the Anfield area while the RS created their Big Stand monstrosity
Surely an opportunity for Chang to maintain contact with the city by going for naming rights.
The White Elephant stand maybe?

Got back from the meeting about an hour ago and have now had time to reflect on it.
My overall feelings are positive because of the following:
- the commitment of Moshiri seems to be far greater than I thought it was
- a new stadium looks more likely than I previously thought, even though there are still some significant hurdles to clear
- Plan A for the stadium is the dock, but we also have a plan B and possibly a Plan C (not something we had in place for the last three aborted moves)
- Although there are still questions over commercial revenue, there do seem to be improvements. Obviously the biggest of these is the TV revenue (£10m per year per club from China alone)
- Our fans are great: not only have they given generously to food banks, they have also bought several beers for Moshiri on the train up from London
- EITC are just the best. Fantastic - and recognised worldwide as the best.

Some negative feelings though:
- Moshiri admits that we are playing catch-up with the top six financially and that this may take time
- Moshiri ranks a good Premier League position above winning the FA Cup, and I suspect that Ronald agrees
- Koeman is not here for the long term. I don't think Walsh is either, even though his brother played for Everton

If anybody has any questions on specific points from the meeting, please ask and I'll do my best to respond!

What makes you say Koeman and Walsh aren't here for the long term? Have they said something tonight or is it just a hunch?
