Shane McGowan's mother died this afternoon when the car she was driving was in an accident in Co Tipperary. She was in her 80s , no other car was involved.

William Christopher who played Father Mulchay in the TV series M.A.S.H. for 11 seasons has passed away
...it surprised me that MacGowan was born and largely raised in England. I always had the impression he came from one of those yiddlee diddlee bands you see in the bars of Galway and Listowel. His folks were Irish and his Mum was an Irish dancer and former model. Sad news.
....loved that programme, timeless. Father Mulcahy was a lovely character in it, can't be many of that cast left although you still see Alan Alda making the odd film appearance.
My daughter loved it, I think it honestly went some way to her becoming a doctor, I've just let her know.

....he's got lovely new ones. I saw the programme on that, it was very good. Fella looks a bit of a wreck now but I suppose that's what that lifestyle brings.
