Ross Barkley

Simple fact is if a player is performing to the best of his ability he gets no stick. Supporters do not randomly abuse players who are giving everything they have. Barkley has talent but he fails to impose himself in too many games. He is too inconsistent to build a team around which is what many of us hoped for. However I believe his workrate is improving under Koeman and he may yet become the player we hoped for, probably not this season though.

Ross undoubtedly has talent but there are questions about whether he can realise that with Everton. He should start v Hull and really it is down to him and not Koeman, to show that he merits an opportunity. He needs to impose himself and make the manager's job difficult. Show Koeman that he can be the catalyst for our rebirth and make US ALL proud that one of our own can do the job. He has had the slap from Koeman and he must take the opportunity now, otherwise I fear he may be gone in 4 weeks time.

Would it shock you

Dropped, comes on as sub, Plays well

Back in the first team, Plays poorly, dropped again

Rinse and repeat

...he did ok when he came on but not much more than that. I just hope we get footballers who deliver quality on a consistent basis. If we do it will mean we don't have to rotate the same old.

That's the thing though, him and Davis did ok, nothing great

Our midfield is so poor though average players stand out
