Well he's not injured. So...

Anyway, that was a good game for him to sit out I think. As will Monday be. Providing Gana's leg doesn't need amputating after Ash's tackle.

I thought we looked god without Barry. And that's harsh to say as I still like him. But he's not getting any younger.

He has been limiting our play for a number of years now. I have found the unconditional praising of Barry to be patronising, especially when it comes from the supporters of other teams or a patronising commentator. I've had arguments with fans of other top half clubs who absolutely insist that as an Evertonian I should be ecstatic to have Barry. But then I ask them whether they would have him in their team, and who they would swap him for? Their response is to say he's good enough for Everton but not good enough for them.

I think the answer is we decided to turn up after half an hour and the crowd got behind the team. It was a great team performance in the end from everyone, Barry not being in the starting eleven was not the reason for the win last night.

I've said this for years, he's not mobile enough to play an expansive or high energy game. The difference was clear as day last night, players could press and Gueye was there to pick up all the loose balls, make tackles etc. like a Makele. The role he is best suited for, and not being asked to play further forward and try and create things.

Barry slows our game down massively, and I really hope he doesn't start on Monday,

Not a chance he's going to America or China.

It'd be a crying shame if he doesn't go into management.
