Recognising problems and dealing with them...

Trying to think if there has been a time where he has been bold with his decisions, struggling to find one, maybe dropping Barkley, not exactly that bold considering Barkley wasn't at his best at the time though.

I assume he means stuff like dragging a player (McCarthy was it?) off for a striker before half time vs West Brom?

That's a long time ago, admittedly...

A long time ago?

lollollol

It was a few weeks ago.

13 games in and people are acting like hes taken us from the Premier League to League Two in 3 years.

I honestly dont know when we became glory hunting trumpets, we used to give our managers time, but now we are demanding more after 13 games, utterly speechless.

Don't get me wrong, I think anyone jumping on his back for the season so far is overreacting, but it would be great if he could become pro-active in that way on a regular basis when things aren't going too well. Hopefully we'll see more of it in the future eh.

At this point I honestly hope we sack him and give the job to Unsworth who plays all the kids.

My ST would be much cheaper in the Champiosnhip.

You really want to sacrifice our " More years in the top flight than anyone else " title .........It's our last bargaining chip in the bragging rights game.............

The manager in football is far more influential than the coach in rugby, hence football is more tactical. That's how I see it anyway. Rugby is so much more physical now above all else, not tactically demanding.

I know guys who play professionally and there's no way that they could perform a disciplined tactical role if they were a footballer lol

It could actually be due to them being front rows tho to be honest. Anyways I'll stop waffling and maybe let others more qualified to discuss this continue lol

Probably another topic altogether, but the work that Rugby teams put in to set moves keeps multiple people employed even at club level. If you're looking at it being more physical than tactical, perhaps that's why the All Blacks are still the best team in the world :P

I hate rugby... it's gash.... I hate international sport... it's bullshit... so why I'm I reading about the England rugby team?

Having just watched England beat Australia at Twickenham after a decidedly dodgy first forty minutes, I have to say that Eddie Jones seems to have exactly what is needed in terms of recognising problems and dealing with them.

England started poorly, got back into it, but trailed 13-16 at half time.
Second half, they destroyed Australia and won 37-21 to complete their 14th straight win and a perfect 13 from 13 since Jones took over the debacle that was the Rugby World Cup.

The kind of coaching, tactical and motivational skills that Eddie Jones appears to have in abundance seem to me to be exactly what Everton appear to be (stunningly and worryingly) short of at present.

I sincerely hope that our showing against Manure tomorrow demonstrates that Mr.Koeman has such similar qualities, as a lack-lustre performance aka those of Chelsea away, Swansea at home and Southampton away will go down like the proverbial lead balloon in my eyes.

If we don't start well or things are going against us, I want to see the kind of decision making that Mr.Koeman made at West Brom and Sunderland that reaped rewards and earned victories.

Beating Manure would be great, beating them in style would be even better...
Come on Mr.Koeman, show us and give us what we want to see.

So this is the same Eddie Jones that as Australia Coach lost 8 of his last 9 games before he was sacked.
His career has had ups and downs - the Coaching, tactical and motivational skills you mention seem a bit hit and miss...wasn't he the coach when England won the rugby world cup Vs Australia??

Sometimes they Hit - right man, right club, right time. like Bob Stokoe at Sunderland, witness the fact that we still mention Kendall Mk I, II, and III.

Sometimes they don't...Eh Ronny?
