Recognising problems and dealing with them...

...funny how such threads didn't materialise when we were winning.
...equally funny that some can't see the point I'm trying to illustrate or the credit I give the Manager for previous decision making that worked.

Rugby Union.

It's completely incomparable here - he's mixed six nations (where he got some corking home fixtures) and what essentially amounts to friendlies this autumn and a pretty talented squad wasted under previous management; this Everton side is full of rot and all our games in the league (and cup) are 'meaningful'

'Merely being polite'? Erm, ok. Fair enough...
So Rugby Union is a game solely for Tories?

If you don't mind me saying, I've read some tosh in my time and that is right up there with the toshest of the tosh.

To be fair, you've lashed out at people criticising your thread here.

It's usually a fair indicator that if you're raging against a man as decent as @Eggs , you're probably in the wrong

What if that problem is that the players are tosh?

It defo is that for me.

I couldn't see any single manager in world football being able to come in and sort this lot out.

But I think the point @AndyC is making is that Eddie Jones motivated a previously average to poor England team to now be bloody good. Koeman is struggling to seemingly motivate a group of average to poor footballers.

A fair critique I think. But the reasons need to be looked at. As I say, I can't think of a single manager who would be able to get this lot playing well. Then there's the possibility that a lot of them have been told they have no future at Everton. Almost impossible to motivate that.

Sadly the difference here is Jones is the ultimate manager in his sport as far as I'm aware (rugby knowledge isn't great). We couldn't attract the football equivalent of Jones to Everton whoever that may be. If there even is one.

That's my 2ps worth anyway.

...to be honest, I've just had a bucket full of Guinness so always ignore my posts at this time of a Saturday. Apologies.

With respect Orly, I am not lashing out at people criticising the thread.

With respect, I suggest people are taking the mention of rugby far, far too literally - the thread was intended to stimulate debate on the ability of a coach/manager to recognise issues and deal with them... as Eddie Jones did today.

With respect, if you've taken the response to the list by @Eggs as me raging, I can assure you I was not. I respect the vast, vast majority of his posts as being a former player of some quality, he has way more knowledge of the game than most on this forum.

And ostensibly labelling me for watching rugby as a potential Tory is hilarious mate lollol

Haven't done anything of the sort.

And if most of the people have missed the point of the thread... isn't that a problem with the original post?

Dunno, you seem to be a bit angry here, especially with all the 'with respect' stuff...

Koeman has been responding to us needing a goal by throwing on lots of attackers late on. I think against Swansea we ended up with Valencia, Lukaku, Bolasie, Mirallas, Barkley and Deulofeu on the pitch! I think he needs to motivate the players to play well from the beginning of matches, and tomorrow is a perfect opportunity!

I am incredibly calm Orly, nothing like angry.
Watched the rugby and England won...
Had a smashing early evening meal...
Settled into my armchair, feet up and totally relaxed...
Eagerly anticipating Everton springing a (good) surprise for us all tomorrow...

And I use 'with respect' to express either a degree or a lot of respect... not sarcastically.

Enjoy your evening.

Hasta la Victoria siempre !!!!
