I know you've had a rough day but now you're just being silly!
Mate this isn't being silly..... it's called PASSION.In the days of smoking in football stadiums ....we could turn around and ask the person standing either side of us for a light. You would have to run around the whole ground looking for one.History is history and you basically support a glorified human trafficking ring.

Frankly, unlike most here, I seen Van Dyke for what he is: a cart horse who seems to be riding his luck with referees. It won't last forever, son, and then you'll be shown up for the fraud you are! A bit like your former manager, Virgil, who somehow conned his way into a club that's way out of his league too.

I stood by RM until it became clear he had lost the entire squad and would have took us down this year . Seems to me we look back with romantically while forgetting the obvious decline. If anything it's the moyes final year were the opportunity to push forward consistently was lost.
Moyes final year was just more of the same. We were dull and predictable and needed a change to something that could get another 8-10 points out from a squad of players we suspected could provide them....and that's exactly what happened the following season.

The lost opportunity was Martinez not using his second summer here to clear out the old guard and get players in who could take the next step. He didn't though. He stuck with players who were mentally weak and he and we paid the price.

Bottom line: Koeman has to jettison all the old guard to stand a chance here. Baines, Jagielka and Mirallas need to be shown the door in January.

What a brilliant post. You'll never sign players of van Dijk's calibre again, he will become bigger than your club.

You've all been conned by the words of Moshiri. Everyone on here was predicting a top 5 finish during the Summer and now you're all aware it's just a transition year! Of course I'm here to gloat, you'd have had me think you were the eighth wonder of the world a few months ago. Interested to see what's gone wrong though if a more level-headed Evertonian would like to fill me in?

Why did you end up with about 3 signings and then miss out on a further two absolutely dreadful players as well? Not a bit worried about giving these "big funds" to a manager who is proving incompetent in the transfer market?

lol we will never sign calibre of VVD again lol mate he's a quality cb but he ain't the greatest cb that ever lived. if we don't go for him another club will because your just a stepping stone club and that's just how it is.

enjoy your win today, fully deserved. Don't chat [Poor language removed] though as if we couldn't take any player from your tin pot club if we wanted to. Just like there's clubs who can come in for our players and sometimes there is nothing we can do about it, well pretty much we can do the same to your club as and when required..

With respect, I think coming on to an opposition football clubs forum, in your words,to 'gloat' isnt going to attract a level headed response mate.

And this is exactly what I said would happen earlier, sanctimonious sweats from other clubs

Tremendous stuff.

So a side that's finished 11th two seasons on the bounce was suddenly going to finish in the CL places? Any sensible supporter knew the job ahead for Koeman wasn't easy and currently he's on course for exactly where we should be realistically aiming for this season- a 6/7th place finish with next summer being in a better position to make signings of a higher quality.

Steve Walsh came into the club late in the window and we have never had a DOF model at the club pre Koeman so this summer gone is not exactly the best to judge the pair on, they'll have had a much better idea seeing the current jokers in the squad about who they want to sign in the coming windows.

We had bid €60 million for Koulibaly but Napoli wouldn't sell, don't worry about us mate the money is in place the manager just needs a season to clear the deadwood and bring in his own players. Klopps liverool were average last season from Rodgers side yet this season the Kopites look a totally different team.

It's the clueless fans on the Internet and social media that demand instant success that wind me up, I suppose Mourinho is rubbish aswell seems as Utd are hardly pulling up trees?

Again true, however I think come March the whole pressure that was building around Martinez played a huge part in our woeful performances.

It's not as simplistic as that of course, although I think we (and the players) had to a reasonable extent capitulated to our fate.

Now not to discredit Koeman in the slightest, but the playing and coaching staff are not under the same pressure and there's been reinforcements.

The fact we seem so tepid is beginning to concern me as regardless of what changes as made, we appear to be as clueless in that department.

Yep. Fairs.

Southampton were not tepid though, far from it.

A few 8-0s and 7-0s IIRC, and they scored 4 vs City and Arsenal last season.

But they pressed and worked hard and worked as a team.

We're a team full of individuals.

This side was at its best this time last year in the run up to that Bournemouth game. It all crumbled with that 3-3 and they never recovered.

A year later it's now full of deadwood.
