Thanks to the massive Everton for stealing this man from us so we could hire someone who actually uses some of the "not good enough" players within our academy. Nice of Koeman to come out after the game and say he didn't actually know who Sims was either, despite him being our 2nd most used player in the U21s last year.

Again true, however I think come March the whole pressure that was building around Martinez played a huge part in our woeful performances.
It's not as simplistic as that of course, although I think we (and the players) had to a reasonable extent capitulated to our fate.
Now not to discredit Koeman in the slightest, but the playing and coaching staff are not under the same pressure and there's been reinforcements.
The fact we seem so tepid is beginning to concern me as regardless of what changes as made, we appear to be as clueless in that department.
I'm sure you enjoyed that and I would have too if I was in your position but its a bit early to be smug. Its a long season.

Think Koeman tried tbh was obvious we wanted another CB and CM/LM. I can't wait for the next 2 windows I think if anything Moshiri will have to put big money in to pacify the fans and even Koeman himself.
If the truth be known.... after the first 20 mins...... I just had it on in the background and plodded on around the house with the things that needed to be done.I sat down for the 2nd half waiting for them to come flying out of the traps.It didn't happen..... so went back to plodding.I must have still covered more ground than half of them on the pitch today.

We go a goal behind in a minute and such was the pressure we exerted in the remainder of the game we forced two corners and had one shot on target

The club needs a massive shake up, sadly the best time to do it was 3 months ago.
Said it in the match thread but I'd love to see 3 first teamers leave in January. Now the obvious names are kone Gibson and niasse so to speak as dispensable from the squad but I'd go one further. Sell Mirallas, he needs to leave for the good of his career. Sell McCarthy as it wouod give a bit of a jolt that the family man isn't needed and sell jjagielka to whoever down The bottom wants him.
I would want the club between now and August 31st to replace even more and sign younger players in their place. Balls to instant success, we aren't obviously getting it so build a squad over time, within 2 years replace 70% of the first team. Have our chief scout / DOF find young players who can make a difference and rebuild the whole place. They aren't all going to hit the ground running and it may take time to implement it but it means when Koeman leaves it won't make any difference whatsoever. We need to form Everton again, not a squad of players who have their team slots guaranteed mo matter who is in charge .

Made me laugh. Got a mate who's an Everton fan who's unbearably negative at the minute but it was clear to see why today. The ignorance of Koeman to stick with the same players despite poor performances is seemingly becoming more evident to you lot by the minute. Say goodbye to the academy boys as well and welcome some more experienced squad signings in January. Hopefully Rom can find a way out!
