Ronald Koeman discussion

At times we did but more often than not we'd be as insipid as we were today.

Yeah, it's not great at the moment but we're 7th so that's at least something.

Have to respectfully disagree. The long ball, sitting so deep and ultra negative football so far bears no similarity to roberto's time in my opinion.

I'd also hold being 7th in no regard given what we have coming in next 5/6 games. Especially taking in to consideration whom we have failed to beat and lost points to. How many points do you see koeman picking up from those games. I don't see many.

Basically as the lad had been playing constantly the past two seasons for there under 21's/23's - 50 odd games - and he has been called up for the england under17's and 18's and played a fair bit for them too, then that's an absolutely shocking statement.

The likes of Kenny, Dowell, Walsh etc don't have a prayer under Koeman
Agreed it's a shocker of a statement, confirms my worst fears regarding Koeman, frankly if he's not going to develop the "goldmine" of young players he's not fit to be Everton manager.

No mate, not quite. I said he failed to take for whatever reasons his key coach in the transition from S'ton to EFC and that he might need to fill that vacancy whether with Lee or anyone else who can give him half a clue how to transition from defence to attack....because it sure doesn't look like big bro Erwin has that qualification.

"7th place doesnt impress me.
Keoman is basically the Dutch Moyes."

Most of the Moyes out people live in crack dens and send their sisters out to earn enough money to pay for their crack habits.
We should pity them really.

  • Sorry if this has already been mentioned - I'm not at all impressed by this quote from Koeman about the Southampton striker who made his debut today, having progressed through their academy: "I wasn't aware of Josh Sims when I was here and he is not my problem - I work for Everton, not Southampton." Why wasn't he aware of him? He was their manager up until the summer.
Idicitatuve of a manager who cares not a jot for his employers. Merely for his own pay packet and short term progression.

Yes but that day Ross was fantastic and Lukaku was in the mood, today both were woeful.

Its not just the system is it, your relying on players to do the required job - like perform in that system too. I think he is using the best formation available due to our CM and winger options. He could possibly make 1 or 2 changes with Holgate/Funes Mori coming in but even then it may not fix things. Holgate and Mori coming in are not going to make Lukaku/Barkley etc work harder/press more or be more creative.

It comes down to certain players not doing what Koeman wants and that wont change until they are shipped out.
Yes, but he's also rewarding players who are playing poorly. Jagielka is just the most obvious one. He took Holgate out when he was playing very well. He took Mori out after we beat WHU with him as a starter.

I must confess that if I were one of Evertons first team squad I realky wouldn't have a clue what this feller wanted out of me. He is struggling badly to get any message across now and he's going to have to go back to where he came into this club and admit that as much of the way we played before he arrived was working as was not working.

Bottom line on Koeman in this respect: he's thrown the baby out with the bath water.

Just got back from the game, at least I don't have a journey back to Liverpool anymore, felt sorry for those who do.

Few things, Van Dijk had Lukaku in his arse pocket, can't believe how easy Lukaku gets bullied off the ball considering how big he is.

Jags is deffo finished, and I haven't seen our away support that quiet for a long time, considering how we went down without any fight you can't blame them though.
Feel sorry for you I felt disgusted let down watching it on a good HD stream I heard the. Vocal support early on - well done to you and all the travelling blues that was unaceptical for you and those gpfans to witness!

Well done, you deserved more

nowt is gonna happen this season. koeman seems to lack answers and whether he can get improve the squad in jan is doubtful if the summer shambles is anything to go by. play the kids and drop the dross. at least they'll look like they want to wear the shirt. sunderland wanted jagielka in the summer. i doubt that offer will be there now
