Ronald Koeman discussion

He just in a mood due to some of our players who are just not good enough anymore. He got a bigger job then he expected tbh. I'm glad he not happy right now.

If it is true that Moshiri wanted Koeman and only Koeman from the beginning, I am dumbfounded by it all really then.

It is totally true that Koeman was his #1 choice at the beginning of the process. He did get side tracked by Jose and Emery (naturally) but once not possible refocused on Koeman.

That is pure conjecture and contrary to both Moshiri and Koeman's recent comments.
It certainly is pure conjecture as is the assertion that he's totally happy. None of us know.
Public statements of contentment are only to be expected at this early stage. If RK is discontent then I would expect it to only emerge at a later time if at all.

Early days yet but it's a results business and;

7th/8th. As well as can reasonably can be expected given lack of investment into squad.
9th/10th. Underwhelming.
11th or below. Below expectations. If we tolerate that, we should have kept Martinez...

Any higher, great effort, when's he going to Barcelona or Arsenal?

What is latin for 'more good weekends than bad'?

Going back to RK's careless comments about Lukaku's future here, I've just come across John Cross's
thoughts on the subject on the Keys and Gray Show last week.

He thought his attempt to clarify what he said - 'I meant if Everton stayed at this level...'- was weak and said
'...if you say things like that and question Everton's size, and they are one of the true greats of English football,
you're treading a dangerous path'.

Just thought that was worth passing on.

Fully agree with this as it's fair to RK given the lack of investment. Objectively the best measure of player quality is the wage bill and we've moved up to 7th according to this, http://www.totalsportek.com/money/english-premier-league-wage-bills-club-by-club/
The sharp drop from the top 6 down shows the challenge he has if he's not supported financially.

Auctor magis boni quam mali.

so if we finish 11th, we should have kept Martinez? I think not. he would have spent like a drunken sailor this summer and we would 'for sure' (as Ronald might say) be down in the zone now

That's simply the truth, Jags does need to improve massively!!! It could work for him were Mori gives that little bit extra in training to prove the manager wrong.
what I think is particularly worrying about Jags, given he's given away all these penalties recently, was that he chose in the middle of this stinking slump, to go on a 5am bender with asshead. surely he should have been thinking, what can I do to improve, not getting bladdered and leaving his body in recovery for days.

I think Ron's managerial record (as detailed in the graphic below) is very good, though I agree that the Barcelona speculation is absurd. He was Barcelona's Assistant Manager for a spell, but he will never be número uno at Camp Nou.

Just out of interest, who would you have appointed instead of Ronald Koeman?

4 of those are charity shields and no one including the fans celebrated the copa del rey win.
