Maybe referees go to Goodison with the mind set of "don't let the crowed influence your decision" - so when the goodison faithful go crazy over a foul / penalty etc the natural instinct is to do the opposite?

Remember that Coates was blatantly fouling Jagielka to win the original header, and it was a clear dive that won them the free kick in the first place. Osman didn't touch the Kopite. That offside decision righted a wrong as far as I'm concerned.
