I think what this proves is that in the big games that will stand out in the referees minds, usually the derby, they've given a host of terrible decisions against us that have been met with howls of derision. Things like this being "let go" by a certain referee.

But probably also because our crowd loves a good moan even if the decision isn't the wrong one. lol
To be fair to Slippy, he's given us some great memories. Was just about to post that! Hilarious seeing slippy knee-sliding in front of us before he realised the game had restarted!!!
Remember that Coates was blatantly fouling Jagielka to win the original header, and it was a clear dive that won them the free kick in the first place. Osman didn't touch the Kopite. That offside decision righted a wrong as far as I'm concerned.

Only one I can think off.....the day Rat Boy had a goal disallowed when he was onside.
It hasn't stopped referees from having total Howlers at Goodison in the past, don't really remember many contentious decisions that have gone our way.........Can remember plenty that have gone against us.
Maybe referees go to Goodison with the mind set of "don't let the crowed influence your decision" - so when the goodison faithful go crazy over a foul / penalty etc the natural instinct is to do the opposite?
I remember we went a record number of games without being awarded a penalty
I used to dislike Peter Walton greatly. He was of course the bugger who refused us 2 pens (or whatever) and 2 goals (onside, thanks assistant ref) in the 1-0 win over Blackburn (we had an early red card to contend with after Turner stepped out of his area - so we played with 10 men for 80 plus minutes and battered them - 2006). Then apparently he said Goodison was his favourite ground and he was delighted to finish with a game here against Newcastle (2008) where we won 3-1. So you never know sometimes..
Let's not do that. Would only be interpreted as sarcasm and cost us a penalty and two sendings off.I wonder if the crowd started singing how good the ref is, would he start to give favourable decisions? He proabably wouldn't know it's happening.
