Ross Barkley

...I can understand the press fixation regarding Barkley, he's supposed to be one of our main men just like every team has it's high profile players. Nobody complains if he has a great game and the press highlight it so when he continues to underperform it's bound to result in questions.

Barkley needs to positively impact games on a week by week basis to be worthy of a top player tag, unfortunately he has failed to do that. It's not a coincidence that he's not linked with moves to truly top clubs.
so is KM who we paid top money for he is either brilliant or he disappears looks bone idle lately!

...i presume you mean Mirallas, Joey. I think he cost £8m and looked a great buy but I have my doubts about his professionalism. Goal scoring wingers are a premium and he's certainly one of those if his mind is right but I fear those days are few and far between.

We seem to have a number of talented individuals who are lacking in crucial parts of their make up.

After all the debates on Rooney and his eventual dropping, it's laughable really when you look at all the players that can play at 10 instead of him. The issue at Everton is, where are the other 10's to drop Barkley? He hasn't got any competition really.
Mirallas, Cleverly, Davies and Deulofeu could be tried there. Davies was very good when he played there in the last game of last season.

and top wages RB cost us nothing so the local lad bears the brunt?
I always think did Rooney leave so early in his Everton career as he had the foresight to know when his standards dropped he would be slated
We slate the local lads and for some reason give the foreign and other signings a endless supply of excuses.

I always think if Barkley would do done what Miralles done in the WBA game last season what would of been the fume from some Everton fans...in Miralles he got away with it

IIRC Rodwell's transfer pretty much paid for that.

And even then £5-6m wasn't exactly £50m.
Doesn't matter were the money come from it was still a substantial figure in terms of what we had.

I would say in relative terms his fee was around what we paid for Bolassie

Can't agree with the comparison again, but I know we were in a massively different predicament. Thing is, we made a slight profit of a few million, traded players well, and it meant that we were back to £0 on the 31st, but it was hardly the season before that (Magaye Gueye only transfer :( ).

That comparison means that we bought Pienaar back for a fee (comparatively) close to Bolasie as well?

Just trying to say 5ml back then is the same as 25ml now....football gone mad

I guess in Miralles and Bolassie we have bought the same type of player....good player but not the finished article
