Ross Barkley

Whilst I was happy with the players we brought in this summer, I was still desperately disappointed that we didn't sign a quality back up for Rom, and a playmaker that could both challenge Ross, and support him in the creative side of our play. He carries the weight of expectation on his shoulders which is not good for somebody who is only 22.

Hopefully we'll sort this out in January .
Juana bet?

Tonight confirms it unfortunately. Another Jose Baxter/Jack Rodwell.

If he needs a behind-closed doors arse-kicking AND a public dressing down just to perform decently, you know there's something wrong.

Shirked responsibility on countless occassions. I can take making errors, I can take playing poorly. But I can't accept players not taking responsibility and being weak.

Starting to worry about him. And I was convinced he was top drawer.

Doesn't have mentality to give it his all for the club. Sell up buy a real number 10...

If he wasn't a Everton fan and local he'd be gone already

Lack of confidence innit. He'll get back to form soon enough and we can all go into hyperbole about him being the next Zidane again.

It's worrying because you can list endless players who standout and take responsibility when playing against a lower league side.

No actually he's going to be second on the new list with John Stones of players who leave because they can't get the fans off their back every time they play below par

It confirms nothing other than he needs coaching and given some harsh words instead of the constant smoke that was blown up his arse by Martinez.

He's still had an OK start to the season and he's been treated like a key player since he was 19. What needs to happen is people need to stop having ridiculous expectations of him and let him just get on with it. Nobody else at the club gets the same scrutiny of absolutely every touch he has of the ball.
