He's just trumped Riola to the biggest undeserved lump sum award. Kenwrights fault though not Martinez, he got way to giddy with RM and didn't look at the bigger picture.

Nah...we were never going down...and were never close under Martinez. Whether you like it or not he won games at the fifth greatest clip in Everton's entire history.

The trajectory of our points totals was heading down, and the club would have gone the same way if he had remained in charge. Fortunately Moshiri was able to recognise his clear incompetence and he has been binned, with him being the proud holder of the manager who is responsible for Everton's worst home performance in 138 years, and also responsible for our worst signing in our 138 years as a parting gift. Well done Roberto Martinez!

Terrible from those responsible for such negotiations, that is clearly an area that the club HAS to improve. Especially given our numerous failures to complete deals this summer.

In sympathy with @Dymak, Averages can drive so much incorrect thought. He had a great first season so on average that made the three seasons look ... well... ok. However given how good season 1 was it sits as a testament to how freakin' awful season three was if it could bring his record down so much. The average is useless, the trend was dangerous and not firing him when they did would have been borderline negligent, as, if he had stayed at the helm I think there is a strong likelihood we would be embroiled in a relegation fight from the get go this season. 10M was a lot of money but not compared to the alternative.

Nobody is questioning whether or not he should have been let go. It's the outlandish shouts that he's the worst manager in our history that I take issue with. His worst season with us in terms of win percentage was actually his second season, not last season. Even then it was 35%. Last season it was 41%.

One of the worst then?
