Bobbys pay off

That's really going to be an attractive proposition to decent managers !

" sorry we only give one year contracts out, because el Coco burned us "
Not only that but in a couple of seasons we might be on the receiving end of a nice payday due to another club having to pay us to get our manager out of his contract. It's just part of the business and nothing to get excited about.

That said if the deal is as bad as reported then someone isn't doing their job.

I don't blame Martinez one bit, there was no need to offer him that ludicrous contract, he'd had one good season with a well bought, well oiled and drilled Moyes team, he was basically a caretaker manager of a Moyes squad for a year until he could train all the good out of them.

Kenwright, what were you thinking?, the fella is a liability, sooner he's moved into a life president role or something the better.
This is about right for me, our own fault, I always thought it was a gamble getting him in the first place, well and truly backfired.

maybe we should be looking at one year rolling contracts in future
Or, maybe, don't promise to pay out the remainder of the contract if it is terminated early. Add in performance related clauses that increase entitlement to a higher salary. Include minimum performance clauses to allow to get rid if not performing over x amount of games.

There are many things that are more attractive to use in the contract than a rolling one year contract, or a iron-clad 5 year contract with no 'get out of jail' clauses.

How would you remember that when you've only been here 5 minutes Friend?

If someone offered you £10m, then yes I'm certain 99.9% of us wouldn't think twice.
Add in the fact the ol' Bobby isn't an Evertonian. Despite 'getting' the club, I doubt it holds a special place in his heart like it would for us.

I would like to think I would think twice before taking my beloved for the full amount, but know this.... I would have no hesitation going for 100% if it was any other club.

I wouldn't think twice about taking some of BK's retirement fund trust me lol

Notwithstanding the fact the terms of the contract appear to have been touched with madness from EFC, the mood on here at the time was one of great euphoria that we had tied Bobby down for a further five years :)

In thise halcyon days posters on GOT were fretting that he was going to replace Arsene at Arsenal that summer en route to the big job at Barcelona :pint2:

I don't think you'll find me amongst them
