Bobbys pay off

Football is mad

Players in the prem being paid astronomic wages, managers getting paid massive pay offs for under performing

But guess what we all moan but it is us that fuels thus industry.

Most people have Sky so whilst we pay the little Australian bloke he will just pay more for this product....and player, managers, agents and the rest reap the rewards

A vicious little circle we live in

shoulda benched him instead, let him fester away with nothing to do like we are having to do with his signings, or sent him out on loan to a team.

Maybe we should have made him available for a transfer ?

Or maybe we should stop this nonsense where you get paid in full for being awful at your job, if he did actually say that champions league thing when he signed up then that should also have been a clause because it was a noose that he made himself that he ultimately hung himself with.

Without doubt. He just got lucky we had Lukaku, otherwise he would have taken us down. Even Mike Walker didn't take us down, and his team really was pathetic.
Some will point to the 'record points tally' in 13/14 but there were signs in that season especially the home game against crystal palace and Southampton away.
A sham of a manager so the payoff was worth it IMO.

There's no arguing with that

Record points tally based on a solid Moyes' defence and being lucky enough to have Lukaku.

We soon saw how quickly he destroyed the club. Second season we hoped was a one-off in finishing 11th, then he goes he performs even worse in his final season where we genuinely could have got relegated had it not been for Lukaku.

I just hope he is banished from memory, don't ever want to see him mentioned in the same sentence as Everton again.

Maybe next time the club will think on to include various clauses for underperformance.

He'd still be Everton's manager now if it wasn't for Moshiri.
I'd be willing to bet a great deal of money that Koeman has no performance related clauses in his contract due to his strong position during it's negotiation.

Absolutely agree - I don't blame him one bit. We'd all do the same.

The situation is daft though.

Would we all do the same though? It's not like he needed the full 10 million or his house is going to be repossessed or he's not going to be able to afford the weekly shop at lidl. He already made several million from us, presumably he hasn't squandered previous earnings from his career also, it's not poor old Rob here. Just to rub it in probably cost us a million or 2 to release him from his contract from Wigan in the first place.

We gave him a chance even though he relegated his last club, Bill has been nothing but supportive of him and gave him every opportunity to improve results. Unfortunately they kept on getting worse including 4-0 to the RS in the most abject way. All he had to do was just shut up shop when we were winning in the final minutes but no. We were nice to him and he screws us for everything he can get and he's taken nearly 10% of our income in one swoop.

Just to say I do blame BK fully for this situation for not having performance targets to meet, but I don't understand all this we would do the same thing. The contract was written out in good faith, he could have shown a little in negotiating a settlement that meant he wasn't a greedy little beep.

Obviously we'd all take £10m if it was offered on a plate to us mate. Let's not take the moral highground on something like that.
