Been having genuine chats with Bolton fans that say Sam is a "Top level manager", im pretty sure they are the only fans that think so.

Every set of fans who have had him at their club hate him, even Sunderland fans now think they have a better manager ffs.

At the end of the day the English FA are desperate. They don't care about playing the right way, developing anything etc. They have hired Sam because he's effective and with the exception of Spain who had 3 of the best midfielders to ever play their position tournaments are won by teams that are effective.

Even smaller nations are doing better than England because they play to their strengths and their limitations.

Will Barkley go to the World Cup. If he keeps firing in the goals and assists and continues to improve the defensive side of his game I don't see why not and frankly Barkley is always better when he has something to prove and to strive for and the media spotlight isn't on him.

Everton fans should be grateful. It's the best thing that could have happened for us and probably also for Barkley.

Ross' decision making is not the issue.

He looks for a forward pass in order to create something - to score a goal or provide an assist.

As opposed to the dross side-ways stuff served up by England players.

Genuinely - it's a lazy excuse that people buy into. It's a total non-issue.

I don't mind Big Sam - but him not picking Barkley is ridiculous.

The frequency of instances where he has 2/3 options for a forward pass/assist and ends up choosing the wrong one/waiting too long/shooting etc is the reason people point out that his decision making could be improved upon. They're not imagining it or biased against him. Anyone with eyes can see there's big room for improvement there.

The fact that he plays largely in the 'number 10' position, where he will be required to make those decisions more than anyone else in the side and is also blatantly extremely talented will see him face criticism from time to time, because before he improves that side of his game, he won't fulfil his huge potential.

He should still be in the england side for me though. It pains me to see players like Lallana and Henderson robbing Barkley of caps.

I'm in the process of making season highlight videos for Barkley amongst other players, this means downloading, editing and rewatching every single match... this season Barkley has not played the wrong pass that many times. He did a couple of times in the last match but other than that he's not really been guilty of it this season.

As well as choosing and then playing the wrong pass, it's failing to see it, failing to execute it properly when he does actually see it etc. It happens more than it should for a player of his talent. Hopefully this season he'll improve and the Stoke game is just a blip.

I do think he improved a little last season on 2014/15 but he still frustrates at times. It's probably what England managers would (wrongly) use to justify leaving him out.

I've oft wondered is Barkley undroppable?. I mean would Everton fans accept Barkley on the bench for long periods if RK fancied, say, playing two strikers?. Probably as long as results were good I suppose. But I wonder if RK didnt fancy him could he freeze him out?. I doubt it.
