Aye but his first half was pretty good. You look at where he was two years ago and he's a much more complete player.
it's a game of fine margins and if one or two of his defence splitting balls had come off as they very nearly did so he'd be lauded as having a great game.
He's 'losing' the ball in the right area of the pitch, and not from dribbling into blind alleys either.

That's incredible they gave him the MOTM award. Gueye, Holgate or even Shawcross had much better games than Barkley.

Aye fair enough lid. Don't think Barkley is doing enough to force the England issue right now. Not that half that squad picked either is like.

I think there's hardly anyone commanding a spot, would be picking him over Walcott and Lallana for sure though.
 
First half was ok, second half was pretty bad, overall needs to improve a lot and bring some consistency to the game. To be fair not surprised he wasn't picked.
 

...folk shouldn't feel so precious over his omission. Managers like certain types of players and it appears Allardyce isn't a Barkley fan. Let's not forget, Allardyce comes from the Moyes school of football, they can often be seen taking games in and have the same philosophy. They will have chatted lots, Allardyce will share Moyes' view that Barkley lacks responsibility , particularly when the opposition have the ball.

Big Sam will probably make England more difficult to beat but he's basically only using the same group of players, he might not be the only manager who isn't a fan of Barkley.
