Ive no idea about either of them but if we are shelling out €25-30 mill on him we would have had no issue meeting Perez's €20mill release clause, which apparently we didnt even do. Plus thats not a huge fee these days, so if he was the number 1 target this would have been done ages ago.

Erm mate, what have you been reading ahaha? It's literally been all over that we met his clause and Deportivo were happy to sell to us.

Arsenal matched our offer and the player wants to go there.

Pretty sure Mcnulty said we had basically everything agreed for Perez mate, then Arsenal came in.

Btw, £20m for Gabbiadini is steep like, though he did bag 20 the season before last and got 10 assists as well I think.

Quick check and he got 9 goals and 3 assists last term.

What I don't get is, if this guy is a Walsh target, and apparently he is as they're are news articles dating back to when he was still at Leicester linking Perez with them, he'd have known his release clause is €20m which is what Ornstein is saying how Arsenal have beaten us to the deal.

So why would we have gone in with €17m and not €20m?!

Arsenal must be utterly knackered. Make no mistake this is a panic buy from them. They are worse at doing business than us, they badly need rid of Wenger now
Won't be wenger mate. It's the people responsible for negotiating. Wenger is notorious for putting a price on a player, the difference has been David dein used to pay more to secure the deal and whoever it is now doesn't so they struggle to sign players

I can tell you if we had a choice between Gabbiadini and Perez, it's Gabbiadini any day. I'm not bothered Perez is going to Arsenal! Even Talksport earlier were mistified at the player interest..

Don't think he will be a good replacement for Rom if he is injured. Plus, the background music on his YouTube montage is Sia. It's a no from me.

The last couple of reports I read said that a deal had been agreed around £16mill (this is less than his release clause). Theres that many reports you dont know who to believe.

My point is though if he really was our first choice, with a reasonable release clause, he'd have been signed by now.

That's his release clause price in Euro's and Sterling
