Everton Transfer Thread 2016

As with our actual signings this summer, I think the players we actually do sign may not have been mentioned yet.

I agree with this.

Wondering if there is some bad blood with Arsenal seeing as what happened did happen at the start of this year and perhaps more to come? Dein was rumoured and a certain billionaire. They hate our guts. But they have CL so they win every time.

What initial investment?

Esk confirmed the money was used to simply buy shares. That's not money going into the club. The debt has just been transferred to Moshiri from some dodgy virgin isles company.

The club is marginally better off.
For whatever purpose, your attempt to shoe-horn my post in a specific direction in some vain attempt to fulfil your own agenda is unwarranted.

I was merely speculating that the supposed £100m bounded in the press might be in reference to an investment: it was not a statement of fact.

Nor did I specify what such investment in any way entailed. It could be buying the shares or equally it could refer to stadium purchases et al.

My point was that the supposed £100m transfer kitty that people constantly refer to is a fabricated amount based on speculation in the press.

If you want to discuss the financing of the club and you're opinion of Moshiri's investment then there's other threads to fulfil your needs.

This is what it's like in this place during silly season

Its easy to pick big names out then lambast the club for mot getting them, the RS are arguably one of the biggest names in football but they struggle to get A list players to sign for them, they went from Sanchez to Lambert,Gotze to Henderson, the aim is to improve short term standing to attract better players for the long term

Why are we waiting so long to wrap deals up. I've known of Evertons I treat in Lucas for nearly a week now. So why haven't we done what we needed to do and get him into the club. Now looks like Arsenal have stole in last min an will sign him today or tomorrow. Took them 3 days....I can't help but be pessimistic, Kenwright has made me that way. Not happy at all again me....

Your fuming because we haven't signed a player that you probably hadn't heard off until last week mate? Really?

Patience is not just a great song by Gun's and Roses, but it's also something desperately required around these parts

It seems like Moshiri is in this for the long haul and it looks like we're getting the stadium sorted, along with making some shrewd signings in places where we needed depth

Gana, Bolasie, Williams and Stekky have all contributed to making us a better side than we were last season

We will not be buying loads of big name players and conquering all comers over night. We're not going to "do a City"

I'm quitely confident that we're moving in the right direction, and we might even have one last "big" signing in us between now and deadline day, but this will take time. It's a marathon, not a sprint

I'm more relaxed with Everton than I have been in years. The first couple of months of this season were always going to be a bit of a slog. The players aren't fit enough, we're bedding in new players and Koeman is trying to put his own mark on things when he hasn't really been here for that long

This. Will. Take. Time

I think we all just need to calm down a bit quite honestly

Brilliant post mate, if i had to identify the positions i wanted to strengthen to make us better it would have been exactly in the positions we have brought Gana, Bolasie, Williams and The Stek in. I do think we need a play maker and am pretty much think that will be done. Im pretty happy with what we have at this point as well as that one addition.

What everyone seems to be ignoring is Koeman and the difference he will make, we have started the season very brightly and remain unbeaten we are unrecognisable from the powder puff displays of last year. For me our players were playing at 70% of their capabilites and if a new manager can get our talent to the top of their capabilites we will do well.

Look at Spurs and Leicseter last season, they are perfect advertisments for what good managers can do and teams can achieve if they can get a team to play with spirit and to the top of their collective capabilites, signings are not always the answer they tip the scales only marginally.

Who's your avatar kidda
Yeah it's the hot kirsty however some on here
Not to be obtuse but I've mentioned this many times before: where has it been confirmed that there would be in excess of £100m to spend?

Apart from an article by the Mirror mentioning that figure way back in February (and we know how reliable they are!) it's been mostly here-say.

I'll admit a small number of other papers have fleetingly mentioned it, but I'm still lacking a reliable source which suggests it's the figure.

Instead, a process of Chinese whispers and fan speculation/fanciful talk have ingrained the figure into the fan base to a point it's now gospel.

I'm not saying we do not have that figure to spend or that we won't spend that much, but the talk of a war chest doesn't signify an actual amount.

Perhaps the £100m is reference to an overall initial investment rather than purely an amount that has been put aside for transfers?

I don't know and the point is neither does anyone else but those behind the scenes. We'll keep spending until the window closes and then see.
Said this before, this 100 million I think was drummed up by the echo. What moshing said publicly was that he will give everything he has, who knows he might give 300 million by next summer. We were in dire straights before he came so what he has started in a short space of time is fantastic. People just need to calm down, not many clubs here or Europe are smashing transfer fees from what I am seeing either. We have improved hugely and yes we all want the "run to the bedroom and we'll you get my gist" signings but football isn't that easy these days. Everyone chill it will end up being the best window collectively ever come deadline day, team is better, management struc off field is massively better and going

  • Will you walk into my parlor?” said the snider to the fly;
“’Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to show when you are there.”
“O no, no,” said the little fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

    “I’m sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the spider to the fly.
“There are pretty curtains drawn around, the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I’ll snugly tuck you in.”
“O no, no,” said the little fly, “for I’ve often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed.”
