James McCarthy

The thing is, Koeman clearly stated the other day McCarthy's future lies with Everton.

The article claiming he might leave was genuine conjecture. 'It's because he got taken off at West Brom'

McCarthy played very well against Spurs, but I do sometimes feel he tends to play it too safe.

However, I do think Koeman rates him, and he'll be starting in midfield tonight I imagine.
Paper talk, I'll be bound.

Some seem utterly desperate to see him through the door and out like he's a jiggy bag full of anthrax.

It'd be interesting to check the vaults from a couple of seasons back when he was player of the season to see if any contradictions turn up.

I've seen Celtic looking to take McCarthy on loan, not sure how reliable this info is though. Anyone know anymore about this...

McCarthy is the new bully victim of the Lower Gwladys as he has strong ties with our previous manager.

Yet the same Lower Gwladys who idolises Besic because he has a knuckle duster tattoo and pretends to be on a proper maddy throwing slide tackles in, despite being half the player of Tom Davies at current levels.

You forgot to tag goat in.

Ugh. He wasn't player of the season. He played well but he didn't win that award yet you keep posting it like eventually it will become a fact.

Ofc they will, because dave it was two years ago and his form has gone to utter crap since his first season.

BTW Dave, heard you mention this player of the season thing like it is something really important, if so - then how come you have totally invented that McCarthy was ever the player of the season for Everton.

The fantastic 72 point season - think you will find Coleman won Players player and Player of the season awards for us.

Oh and the year after Jagielka won both - yanno the bloke you have constantly banged on about wanting rid of
The year before 13/14 it was Baines - another you have constantly banged on about wanting out the club

So which season did McCarthy win this award mate?

Fans player of the season. Didn't I make that clear? Sorry.

BTW, this use of the word 'fantastic' in that bolded sentence: it's like you're pouring scorn on actually reaching that points total. I mean, it WAS fantastic wasn't it...or should we be looking to secure 80 points no problem this season?

Go on then Dave, give us the link to that award, spent 5 mins looking - not a single mention of it anywhere

as for points Dave, rather have lower points and a higher position than the other way around wouldn't you? Was it a fantastic season - it was a decent one mate - bit of a shame the way we utterly collapsed at the end when we had 4th in out own hands - and never recovered from that either for the next two seasons though - which did sort of take the shine off the memory of glorious 5th

McCarthy: I made a mistake on that. The pertinent point though was that he was a massive success with the fans that first season and earned a big reputation...now some restless souls want him gone because we've apparently got a few bob and we can indulge their Fantasy Football wishes.

I take a more sober view of form and player's worth myself.

Ha Ha....a 'decent first season'.

Yeah mate. It put some very decent daylight between our old PL performances and points total and what we saw that season.

It's a benchmark season. It's not a 'decent' season.
