how do we know we can get butland or forster for 30 mill?? forster and butland have just signed new deals with there respected clubs

We can't make. It was pure conjecture on the OP's part.

S'ton value Forster (who isn't better than Hart and has made as many errors anyway) at £40m. Butland similarly won't be sold by Stoke (and he;s injured)

He's Citys third choice or will be any day now.

He's England's No.1 and one of the most high-profile goalkeepers in the world.

Consistently over the past five years he's been one of the best performing.

IF we get him, it's a great acquisition (as good as Stekelenburg has been).

If we don't, I won't be devastated because, as I said, Stek is doing well. But it'd be a 'statement' (which is what so many are looking for)

out of the keepers available hart and begovic are the ones who stand out . hart is a no brainer

He would be a fantastic signing if we could get him. A very good keeper. We haven't had one for a long long time. One of the most important positions that we as eertonians have been complaining for years. Very difficult to bring in a top keeper so if the chance is there we must grab it. Pay a high fee and wage if necessary. Improves our goalkeeper situation as he goes straight I as number 1.

Or, just maybe a touch of this...

Tbh though it wasn't 'tappping up' was it...

Stones had wanted to leave for a year. It was well known. Hart going 'you'd be welcome at City' is pretty standard really.

He's a good keeper who is better than what we've had since Martyn and now has a point to prove. If we get him I can't see the negatives, at all.

Joe hart at Everton. Who would have thought it. Quality.
to be fair the scum had just down 2 months ago at signing him for 40 million.

so the rumour has been out there for a while.

If we can get hart and kone in this week i could possibly see the moyes esq hard to beat mentality returning to the team. Any attacking additions after that and its a massive bonus for us.

I just can't see City loaning him out. It's sell or nothing for them IMO.

Pep has made it pretty clear that he does not see Hart in his plans.
They can only sell if there's a buyer who'll meet their valuation and more importantly if Hart accepts the permanent move.

All the noises are that Hart doesn't want to decide his long term future in the next 10 days. Largely due to the lack of options.

He'll therefore be loaned out at the death when City have no other option. As they wont want a player of his standing disgruntled and potentially disrupting the dressing room.

He doesn't have to prove a point mate. He isn't being calle crap or dropped after poor form or anything. Pep is just totally changing the team and therefore getting rid of a keeper that doesn't suit his style. As city can afford it he is easily made surplus.

make no mistake, any team aside from chelsea/united/spurs he would walk into the team. Only they have a better keeper than Hart. even chech would be under pressure if arsenal signed him.

No of course he isn't been called crap mate but given how Hart is by all accounts obsessed with being the best (and probably a bit arrogant as well) he isn't going to take it lightly mate. He'll want to prove he can be the best in the league, as the media are already blowing the story out of proportion. He's also got to retain his place in the England team so again, he has a point to prove on that front.

Agree totally on your last point. Would say Cech just edges it but in terms of GKs in this league -

1. De Gea
2. Lloris
3. Courtois
4. Cech
5. Hart

Factor in Bravo when he comes like, as he is a top goalkeeper.

He will have a point to prove. I wouldnt be suprised to see him come here and have an amazing season.
Which is why I would prefer a permanent deal as if he joins on loan and does well he may just go elsewhere next year and we are back where we started.

Ok. I'm off the fence. I can confirm that I'm now firmly on the 'get him at the right price' side. I've been sold on us gaining a quality goalie giving us many years service.

With everyone's value going up, it'll be miraculous to get him cheap. Perhaps we should invest serious money in him: are loans ever long. And I can't see him reducing in value.

This does of course mean it won't happen.

He won't go abroad, and no better team than us in this league needs him or will bid for him. Let's low ball the offer, 15m, and see how they react. Hopefully we were given some sort of sign of this when negotiating the Stones deal.
