The test when we sign a player is if he improves the team/squad.
In this case the answer is a definite yes. Hart is a very good goalkeeper, possibly had gone a little stale at City and now will want to prove himself and of course cement his place at international level.

A keeper of that quality could mean a difference of three or four places at the finish of the league and if Everton could finish in the top six it would make it easier to attract better players next summer.

Hopefully this will fire stekelenberg up, there will be some competition for the number one position this season!

I just can't see City loaning him out. It's sell or nothing for them IMO.

Pep has made it pretty clear that he does not see Hart in his plans.

Ian Doyle in the Echo reckons we need to sign this fella to make some sort of statement. What rubbish im not intrested in statements. All i care about is whether someone is good enough to play for Everton or not.As it is im happy enough with Stekelenburg manning the goal for now. That Ian Doyle fella always seems to write articles with a belittling tone towards Everton every Sunday.Outside of Phil Kirkbride and Greg O'Keefe that paper really has some poor journalists.
No - big signings boost morale and will help attract more players

they'll be looking to sell mate but Pep wants him out of the door.

Think about it. If he stays then there's going to be him lingering there in the squad, and if a few things start to go wrong (e.g. Bravo makes a few errors or something) the pressure will suddenly be on Pep to change things.

City would rather get the money but they won't really care if it ends up being a loan fee.

Seriously Pep sounds like a f* w* to me and can see how he rubs people like Mourinho and Zlatan the wrong way. He's going to run into problems down the track when he alienates other existing Man City players because he insists on playing the one way. He had no problems at Barca because they were all from the academy, and at Bayern the domestic league was a cake walk. But he's going to be challenged every week the prem.

Honestly there's no way Pep will win it in his first season. Mourinho has a huge advantage over him this year.

Yeh, because Mourinho and Zlatan have never had history of being hard to deal with have they? :D

Pep knows what he's doing and he'll do it his way. He's had enough success to do that.

Look at Simeone. He's never afraid to make changes, whether it's signing somebody and then immediately dropping them if they don't cut the grade.

The best managers in the world aren't afraid to shake things up.

And trust me, City will be a hell of a force when it clicks this season. They've already scored 11 goals in their first three matches of the season...
